how about if I pm the OP of the weeklies that will need moving to regs, let them post next weeks on mains and ask them to post in the OP that starting the following week this will be posted in the regs boardI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. it ended we think. i was giving it until i did weeklies again to let gilla know it needed removing form the thread and let a bg know to send it to game over......in case the new presenter had picked it up and carried it on. no harm in waiting a week to make sure, but if it had been removed and moved straight away and then started up again today it would then have had to be moved back and added to the thread again.0 -
, out of nearly 400 voters over 50% wanted to keep the regs board,
So out of well over 800 users probably less than 25% actually voted to keep the regs (which is a small minority but no problem with that if it helps them to enter things they might otherwise miss), but I fail to see how removing a (any) competition from main which was linked to regs is an improvement. It takes a "main" user more time to find (regardless of links/stickies any extra clicking takes longer) and as it was already linked to "regs" makes no difference to users of the regs board (this applies to any actual end date comp that was linked to regs and was/is moved).
I don't want to get bogged down with this, it is so clearly a less efficient way for the majority to find and enter competitions but as it has not been changed with a view to keeping it simple and quick for the majority of users that is fine.0 -

monthlies on main as new thread each time, weeklies as ongoing threads on main if they have an overall end date, on regs if they don not have any end date other than each weeks end date.
its a compromise and i for one really dont want to start down the argument of it all over again. can we please just all take responsibility for how we comp?
those of us who hate end of month comps having 50ish pages anyway are now going to hate them even more and miss out on more comps if we dont manage to work through them all picking out what we want to enter, as well as any that get forgotten and dont get reposted each month, when before there were a few hundred of them in monthly thread.
those of us who hate regs and only ever use main are going to miss out on a few comps that have previously been left on main each week.
the option is there to go to regs or to the weekly sticky once a week and get most of them that way.
i will choose to skip all end last day of the month comps and it will be my choice because i cba to go through 80 odd at a guess pages of comps ending that day so i will accept that its my choice. if people choose not to go to regs/weekly and daily stickies thats their choice.
i'm not trying to make any point pcl, i work on mains every day, have subscribed to certain comps in dailies/weeklies & those ones have been posted on main board each time, i thank/enter when they're posted on main & have no need to go thank in the link they've given to add to updated link iyswim,
all i'm trying to say is if it's a new weekly comp it should be posted on main first, then added to weekly updated, majority of peeps enter from main makes more sense to me to put them on main first rather than having them posted in another threadplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

tbh im inclined to say dont do that, its creating even more work for you to do so, your already pming people about the new rules when it should be their responsibility to read the guidelines themselves and their responsibility if they miss a comp or ten because they choose not to go anywhere other than main.
but it would be very kind and considerate of you to give up even more of your time to pm them as well and you really dont have enough to do with moving all the monthlies to game over so knock yourself out :rotfl:
korky the weeklies should work the same as the dailies. each thread in it is a link to an ongoing thread which is updated as necessary. all thats different is the order because gilla adds new threads to the top rather than in end date order as i do in dailies.0 -

scroll through to see which one you want to enter
unless i'm doing something wrongyou have to click on each link, get to the last page to see the last posting
unless i've subscribed to the thread then get updated emails to say there's been a new post with new comp
That sounds about right instead of just entering direct from main by end date/new posting or whatever method you use. Defeats the point of the "enter" button as well.0 -

well, again, i'm sorrybut if i had a new weekly comp for everyone to enter i would sooner post it on main than in 'regulars'
then add it to regs, peeps visit the main more & always willplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

I was thinking if the first post was edited each time with the new competition that would stop the thread growing (and by checking the date of your "thanks" you could tell if you had entered (if you are a thank/unthanker) ?0 -

I cannot see any logical reason for it to be any other way.0
