but if i had a new weekly comp for everyone to enter i would sooner post it on main than in 'regulars'
then add it to regs, peeps visit the main more & always will
the same could be said for postals? for tab ongoing thread? for puzzler ongoing thread? people would rather visit main than click on and follow any of them0 -

the tab/puzzler threads are posted on main then updated, postals have a sticky, then updated,
not posted in 'regs'please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
First, i will admit i have not read the last few pages as i thought since getting my PM from Glad that all had been sorted, so im sorry if this has already been asked and answered (im working at the mo, and have baby on my lap, so dont have chance to go back).
I thought that all competitions with a definate end date are to be posted on the main board (the one thing the poll did show was that the clear majority of people who voted wanted)
So why is this one now only going to be posted on the weekly board from now on? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/31516300 -

and the tab and puzzler threads get lost among 200 plus pages of compspeople dont want to be searching them down and then going to the last posts to see if there are any new comps they havent entered yet, and the entered button is redundant on them.
im failing to see the difference really between those and an ongoing weekly thread. except as you say, they are on main, which some weekly threads will be, those that have overall end dates
people who dont want to faff with following those threads dont, they get posted as ongoing and no one complains. ive even seen them described as the two most popular threads on comps. yet the people who dislike those threads, who complain that they cant understand them and cant follow them, are not being told being told oh dear im sorry you cba to go anywhere else we will separate them and post each one individually for you
im not getting how people can find and follow those threads, or the inn, or the disc thread but really dont understand how to do the same with the weekly sticky, or how people can find and post in iwoniwon,
unless they cant read the words regular board at the top of main and then cant read the words weekly competitions and sticky at the top of the page clicking once on the regular board words takes them to. maybe other peoples left mouse click doesnt work on those words for them :rotfl:0 -

i assume the peeps who enter the puzzler/tab ones are subscribed to the thread as i am, that way you get an email every time the new comps posted, straight to the new comp, you don't have to scroll through the thread, the thanks button shows you you've entered, please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
I assumed (and forgive me if im wrong) the reason the tab/puzzler ones are in one thread together is because all the extra information thet is required to enter these comps which are listed in the first post?0

yes, you're right cc, a lot of them run in conjunction with the other mags from there, the big money ones on tab are across all tabs monthlys & the puzzler ones run with other ones sometimes, so if they were posted separate there would be a lot of posts saying they had already entered themplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

and that doesnt work for an ongoing weekly thread because?comping_cat wrote: »I assumed (and forgive me if im wrong) the reason the tab/puzzler ones are in one thread together is because all the extra information thet is required to enter these comps which are listed in the first post?
dont need any extra information other than what is provided in each post. you need your site log in, the comp answer, mag name to find it on puzzler, its simply a link to the right page on tab, and comp id to check you are entering the right one and not the previous issue or something. thats all given in each post. its easier to check back through one thread and thus not duplicate if the same comp is run across a number of the mags than it is to search back through a number of different posts on main, and having the info in the first post to hand can be useful especially for new people who can be pointed to it.0 -

.
i'm not saying it doesn't work, as long as you subscribe to each thread you want to enter in weeklys,
all i'm trying to say is it was agreed the comps with ending dates should be posted on main board first, if it's weekly posted on main board first then linked to the weekly thread,
not posted straight into weeklys regsplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0
