the way i see it now is its very simple. there is no rule, nor logic to follow in how to post or in what is permissable in the reg sticky threads. indeed im not even to maintain it as i want/have been doing with end dates and colour coding, new links must go at the top in any random way they are sent and its to be updated weekly (aproximately)............ and the twitter gang called me a dictator :rotfl:
apologies to everyone who found it useful with its extra information, and formatting. i am however following instructions and cannot understand what im supposed to include and exclude now.
go read twitter for further information, its been done that way so that people who keep up with newly posted can easily keep up with new comps on the stickies and be done then, thus not missing any comps they may otherwise miss.0 -

Hi PCL - do you have a link for these 'rules' on twitter? Im not that good on twitter so have not seen anything, but if they are telling you to stop posting as you have been, i find that (apart from a bit worrying) very wrong - this is the disscussion thread and all thoughts are meant to come here for compers to discuss and decide.
I think the way you have been running the dailies board has been brilliant, you even picked up a daily i put on the thread before i had chance to PM you the other day so i do think its worrying people are hiding away in twitter to complain about things.0 -
While I'm fine with a lot of things and will work my way around no more monthlies sticky and 300+ more comps at the end of the month the daily sticky being reduced from being an incredibly useful sticky to an incomplete and slightly illogical list is unfair and frankly ridiculous. Why force something to have LESS value than it used to?
The main board now holds most comps. Fine if that's what people want. But the stickies should be run however the sticky owner feels fit. So long as everything is posted in the correct place initially it doesn't hurt anyone if it's too informative (if such a thing even exists?)
We are now virtually hiding comps on main (there's loads more posts there and a lot less comps on the stickies).
This place is meant to be here to help people. Main board holds everything there's no reason to dilute the stickies usefulness.
I've seen loads of compliments since BHG then pcl took over the daily sticky (not that it wasn't run well before but that's the truth people liked their format). It [STRIKE]is[/STRIKE] was a great resource for me (and others) on days when it was the only thing I had time to look at. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking it was a great resource.
Things I can see no reason to remove/change:
A lot of the purchase comps allow you to enter every day but they are not on there
The spammy (WOTV etc) ones used to all be together so you could ignore them if you wanted or enter them all together
The enter early (one entry for multiple draws) was fantastic as an end date comper because otherwise you only end up in the last few draws
On a similar note, ones like Visa where you can enter 10 times a day every day
The colour coding was great so you know what's new - because I just skim over some of them but knew to keep my eye open for them.
Also IMHO there is no harm with the enter once a week on a specific day being held on the daily and the weekly threads - because although they are strictly weeklies, by definition you only look at the weekly thread once a week and you look at the daily thread once a day.
I know there's taking responsibility for how you comp but while pcl is willing to update the daily sticky as she was there is no reason to change that and hurt other compers. So long as the OP is in the right place of course
EDIT : PS please don't shout at me for posting. I didn't moan at anyone for having an opinion on Monday re the bag comp etc. just for the insults. I've kept it polite and like cc says this is a discussions thread0 -
I was going to get involved in this again, but I don't think I will. I think I'll just go and enter some comps instead. However I don't know if I agree with people asking advice on twitter, as I believe it should all be mentioned here and then no one can be accused of being underhand.0

Would just like to add that I did like the way the daily sticky was laid out, it was very easy to understand xxThink it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0

I couldn't have put this better it is exactly how I feel. purplecatlover, I think, was doing an excellent job with the old format. It was clear and easy to use..what more can you ask for.
