Charles, Daitem are not the biggest alarm manufacturer in Europe, Pyronix is the largest volume detector manufacturer in Europe.

I see that the independent website also does not even list a link to Daitem. That speaks volumes
You also have to remember that G4S dumped SAS, and all those customers with those wonderfull Daitem alarms, in August of last year!
Perhaps they know something about those Daitem alarms....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
East Renfrewshire council’s trading standards team want to bring to the attention of local residents that a free advice leaflet is now available which will give them valuable advice on what they should do if they had dealings with an alarm company called SAS which recently went into liquidation.
SAS operated by selling people an alarm system and getting them to pay up front for up to 10 years monitoring of the system. When they went into liquidation that meant that there was no one to continue the monitoring agreement and that in turn meant these people had lost their money.
The council’s principal trading standards officer Steve Fox, said: “Not surprisingly people may well be confused about what to do next. So this new leaflet has been prepared by the trading standards team and includes all the available information that will help people who purchased an alarm system from SAS.”
The leaflet is available from East Renfrewshire Council’s trading standards team based at Thornliebank Depot, Carnwadric Road, Thornliebank. Telephone: 0141 577 8585.
It is also available from local libraries and on the council’s website.Further Information is contained within this document - PDF 28K

I dunno, I found it quite informative myself, so speak for yourself ONLY mate. Rather that than YET AGAIN assuming you have some sort of control over this thread!:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

There is a saying at my place of employment and that's never asssume anything. The alarm company is not in question here, as Spammy was more or less saying. I really don't care why G4S left SAS, but if I was to assume anything (not that I would) it would be that the negative press SAS were receiving caused them to bolt. I am curious as to what you found informative though? The internet and forums are amazing places to be and to air our views, I do not have the time or the energy to sit in front of my PC every day googling away random stuff to post on forums in a game of one upmanship. I do however have a sense of humour and find it really funny that when I make an honest comment or observation after Spammy posts you are straight on to defend her :-) Are you her big brother lol? Can I adopt you as my big brother? An internet big brother would be great for when I need back up on forums, especially after I drink a bottle of wine and come on here and accidently wind people up.
Right off to listen to some Cindy Lauper, I see your true colours shining through ;-) xXxGave up trying to have funny Sigs..0 -
Its probably wise NOT to wind people up on here, a sure fire way to find yourself an unwanted PPR. In the air of defense, one should not have to defend another, you should be adult enough to grasp this idea yourself, rather than so embarrasingly having to be reminded of MSE etiquette so many times.
The rules are prominently linked atop this very thread, simple guidelines that are set out in such away even YOU could comprehend them.
As has already been pointed out to you before, feel free to post an opinion, but do not feel that is in someway a position to dictate what YOU think should or should NOT be discussed. Leave that to the professionals.
Big brother truly IS watching you.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

As for leaving what should be discussed to the professionals I thought I was a proffesional.
If I am not proffesional enough for this forum though I shall go and do whatever course it takes to be proffesional enough to post intelligent stuff that can be discussed.
Oh, just realised the time...need to rush out to work and don't want to be late as that would be unproffesional :-)Gave up trying to have funny Sigs..0 -
Ongoing saga with my section 75 claim and the bank, sent copies of everything they asked for, three days later they responded and asked for it all again as they insisted they hadn't received it. I have now sent another letter, 4 in total. All I want now is a full refund, not sure if that is my right or not, at least for the 9 years 4 months, hopefully someone can tell me.
Meanwhile we had a visit from HS Security, very helpful engineer, he contacted Daitem on their Trowbridge number. Reset the alarm, checked it out, entered our mobile numbers, happy to take the alarm over. We have only gone for a 1 year maintenance contract at the moment, £120. At least that has given us some assurance that the system isn't a complete failure. HS Security actually think the system is super, and now they have the contact with the UK Daitem people, they are more than happy to deal with it.
I will now have to persevere with the section 75 claim and see what happens with that, I will keep you informed, but I can say that a section 75 claim isn't the easiest thing to do.0
