That's why they are freelance and not staff.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Did anyone succeed in stopping payments to finance company for the SAS alarm?? We're still paying £35 a month to creation for the forseeable for nothing, as we have even moved house and left the alarm there, so we are in effect throwing £35 down the pan every month and would love to do something about it. I'm aware that with finance company it is not so cut and dry as with credit card etc.
Any advice much much much much appreciated
Thanks in advance0 -
Without reading the thread ... in most cases a finance agreement will be covered by the Consumer Credit Act. As such Section 75 of said act will be in place, whereby the credit provider is jointly liable for the provision of the contract.
Whether S75 would apply in this case I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to check.0 -

“Many of SAS’s customers were elderly or vulnerable. The sales tactics SAS employed exploited this.
I hope they are proud of themselves. It would be ironic if some of their elderly parents were conned in the future by similar scammers. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

I suspect that these people no longer have elderly relatives, probably sold both their grandparents and parents.....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -

Hi, I work for an alarm company called Response Security 1, we deal with a lot of ex SAS customers. We are fairly certain that creation was a finance company controlled by SAS and therefore went down with them. However I cannot be 100% certain that you shouldn't still be paying them and I recommend calling the following number 0800 988 8822.
This is a consumer reclaim line that we work closely with, they have been able to collect anything up to a full refund for our customers. Hopefully they can be of some assistance to you. 0 -

Consumer Reclaim is part of Consumer Reclaim Ltd, whose sole director is 51-year-old Roger Anthony Pritchard. According to Companies House records, Consumer Reclaim Ltd has failed to send in annual returns due on 12 May and is subject to a "proposal to strike off". This could cause difficulties for anyone who has a contract with them.
Guardian Money found one other company offering redress for solar panel purchasers – Assist Reclaim – with a similar website. It has one director, again a Roger Anthony Pritchard, of Hale, Cheshire. In October 2006, the Financial Services Authority issued a notice against Stockport-based First Legal Services, where Pritchard was also a director. The watchdog cancelled its permission to deal in FSA-regulated activities. It said: "The FSA is not satisfied that you are a fit and proper person, having regard to all the circumstances, including the need to ensure that your business is conducted soundly and properly." First Legal Services went into compulsory liquidation in 2009 after the Official Receiver intervened.0
