BT Vision

The pay to use BT TV option is not comparable to the SKY free to view option. Well it is SKY free to view is much better.
That depends on what and how you watch. We have Sky, but watch very little that isn't FTA or FTV. We would love a reliable, easy catch-up TV service covering the five main channels. BT Vision would win hands down for us, but I don't want to use BT as my ISP.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

We watch very little tv in our house. I have a young son who loves kiddies cartooons. I work FT so no time for very much. But when i do have the time (when kids are in bed) I find it difficult to find anything I'm interested in (which is the reason why I thought it would be good for me to choose something from BBC iPlayer or 4 onD or something to that effect.0

No problem misspiggy. Yes, you should be able to get the Sky feed rerouted to the other room and use your Sky box for the free channels. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

BTV is just Freeview with some on-demand content via broadband*. Doesn't begin to compare to Sky.
*And you'll need a line speed of 2MBps minimum for that to work.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks all, I decided not to go for BT vision but instead took an offer of unlimited broadband0

Hi
I’ve only just found out that you can leave BT (I have Vision+, phone – which I don’t use and – very, very slow- 0.5MB BB) mid contract if you do not agree with their price hikes. I’m half way through a 24 month (yes!) contract with BT but am not happy with the cost, speed of BB, or the fact that only Sky Sports 1&2 are available (Sky seem to have much more premium content on SS$ these days...I wonder why?
Anyway, I called up yesterday but BT claimed I’d need to pay to leave...here is their response
I can confirm that we sent official notification to you on 13/09/11. You then had 10 days to contact us to let us know that you did not wish to proceed with your contract. As you did not contact us within this window I am afraid I cannot agree to terminate your service without early termination charges. I can still stop your service, however, this will mean early termination charge of £160.07 (based on cease date of 03/01/12) would be applied to your final bill. If this is how you wish to proceed please let me know.
Does anybody have any advice on how to get round this. Will they chase me for the £160 – seems a bit unfair as I’ve already spent 13 months at £60 a month0 -
If your broadband is that slow, BT Vision cannot possibly work as it is supposed to (BT specify it needs a broadband speed of at least 2MB) and I would suggest you may wish to raise a complaint about that.
If all else fails, that must breach the terms of the BT Vision contract, so you could, at least, get rid of that.

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
BT appear to make no attempt to verify the line speed when selling this service, nor do they appear to tell the customer to check it themselves.
But if you have had it over a year already without complaining, your chance of claiming mis-selling now is probably nil.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

When I got BTV they checked that my speed was and had been good enough ( over 2Mb ) for the previous 10 days0
