am i right in saying that they have 28 days from the date of acknowledgment to put in the defence? they have acknowledged and replied stating they will enter a defence, but as of yet, nothing and that was 2 weeks ago today. Getting a bit itchy now!0

Any good advice from anyone to keep calm and especially other Nationwide success's would be really appreciated Thanx
We won our case against Nationwide two weeks after the court papers were served, and they had entered an intention to defend! See the following link which I posted at the weekend.

Jamiem - As Nationwide have acknowledged the court papers I believe they have 28 days to enter a defence from the date the papers were served. As you will also see above it was on the 15th day after our papers were served that Nationwide paid up - I really hope it is the same for you too!!!!!0 -
nothing as of today
fingers still crossed though!

Help !! I have started transfering everything to Natwest (as I already had an account with them) but ticked the box for Natwest to automatically close my Nationwide account on transfer completion thinking that it would all take ages.
Its going to be completed by the 9th March .... I have only just served Nationwide with the 1st 'I want X amount back' letter.
I think I have to send back my cheque books and cards to Nationwide to fully close account. Shall I stall in sending them back? or can still claim back costs from a closed account?
Any help appreciated

Hi all,
I am acting on behalf of a client of mine, and wrote letter #1 to Nationwide on 1st February.
Last week they replied with their 'no we won't pay' letter.
Do we now send 'stage 4' letter - if we do, should we say we want a reply within 7 days or 14? There seem to be conflicting posts.
Or do we go straight for filing the court motion?
Many thanks :TMFW #185

Hi
Help I have a few questions and am hoping someone on here can help.
Has anyone tried to make a claim against the student loans people?
I have 2 flex acc and a credit card with Nationwide. I have accrued charges on all 3 however if I only claim from 1 flex acc and the credit card will Nationwide close everything??
I opened my nationwide acc so that I didn't have a lot of charges when I was abroad. If Nationwide do close my accounts what is a good acc for use when abroad?
Has anyone left it awhile and then tried to open a new flex, credit card with Nationwide??
Grateful for any answers

In fact someone has reported that Nationwide closed all of their accounts after their claim so if this may happen you might as well claim on all three accounts. Obviously this should be complained about to the bank in the first place and the Financial Ombudsman should it happen.
Please see the Budgeting and Current Account board for bank accounts.0 -
Hello - Firstly I have to say many many thanks for all the work you are doing - Edinburghlass & Rex. Today a part result - some of the money has just appeared in my account. I've asked for 5k and got 2k. Do we have a template letter to ask for the rest please? Thank you.0
