At the moment my O2 bill is £2.55 monthly and I have received an email stating that it is going up to £9.50 monthly.

This is an increase of £83 per year!!

Time for some negotiations with them

Mine too - I am really angry at such a big hike but £9.50 is a lot cheaper than a lot of the service providers so I will stay with them until I find another cheaper supplier
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

They are doing good deals (making it £4.75/month over 12 months) in return for extending your contract another 12 months.
  • How will I know if I'm on a legacy package?

I signed up via quidco in August when o2 were offering £7.50 broadband to current o2 mobile customers.

If it's called the Standard package it's the old legacy package. That deal was indeed £7.50pm for O2 customers.

I'm on O2 Home Broadband Premium. Signed up in August. Now paying £10.21 per month (I'm an o2 mobile customer). So how much will my package be going up to

    £13 i was told.
  • Unfortunatly, I can't access my bill online, so can't check what the package is. I think it's probably standard. It has no cap.

How can they make any money??

They are so desperate to get existing customers off the old uncapped, non-traffic managed legacy packages and onto the new capped, traffic managed packages that they are prepared to offer deals.

Person said there is a note of a 14 day cooling off (lucky) and will speak further when relevant dept. open!!!

No way back - others have tried.
  • The article makes no sense at the end-

"O2 is not alone in increasing prices.

    ...

BT, O2, Orange, Sky and Talk Talk say they have no current plans to raise broadband prices."
