  • Thought some of you might be interested to see this.

  • So what happens if, like me, one is simply in too much pain to go to an ATOS Interrogation?
Do they do it at home? Hope so as I have 4 cameras in my bedroom.
The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.
  • DWP get their information from ATOS and ignore any other information given by the person attending the medical. My husband was also found capable of work, scored zero points, and, has terminal cancer.

Absolute disgrace. These people have absolutely no regard for human life - what can you expect from pond life
  • DWP decision makers are not qualified in healthcare and I cannot see how they can make a decision on disabled patients with regards benefits.

I feel both DWP and the mickey mouse organisation that is ATOS (originally a technology company) are both working together with the primary aim of removing most people off the benefits.

Is anyone that examines you or asks questions medically qualified. From what you say the DWP aren't doctors - so what are ATOS? If none are medically qualified how on earth can anything remotely accurate be established?
  • When they do the test and you get the points. You have to reach 15, is that right? If so, is it 15 from one question, or do they tot them all up from all the questions. It's a worry because a lot of the questions will probably have been removed.

I read somewhere that anything relating to getting up from a kneeling position has been scrapped. Is that correct, if so, why? Well I know why, they don't give a monkey's, but how on earth would that not be relevant for people who do have problems from rising from a kneeling postion

Some are properly qualified, but many are not. Atos hides behind the phrase 'healthcare professionals', a phrase that has been stretched to include just about anything.

What annoys me is that you can be under the care of GP/s, consultants etc for years. They know your full history, the full diagnosis and prognosis of your condition, and the likelyhood of you being able to return to work.

Yet their input on ESA/DLA claims is minimal and a 30 minute 'interview' with an ATOS 'Healthcare professional' seems to hold more weight in terms of evidence.

The other thing is, these healthcare prrofessionals can have a background in any field, not necessarily one that matches your condition.

My Dad failed his ATOS medical. he has Spinal, muskulo-skeletal and bowel problems. The person he saw from ATOS said he used to be a Cancer doctor. What the hell does he know about prolapsed disks, sciatica, spondylosis? My dads GP of 20+ years, his 3 consultants (orthopaedic surgeon, Spinal surgeon and bowel specialist) all agree my dad will never be in a position to be able to return to work. these people have all the facts to hand, they know the history and are experts in their own field.

The Cancer doctor at ATOS, reported that there is no debilitating function with my dad, and that he will be fit for work within 6 months.

These ATOS doctors are there for one thing, to bring down the number of accepted claims.

One huge flaw in your argument - ATOS does not declare anybody fit for work. The DWP makes that decision.

The DWP decision maker does nothing more than rubber stamp the ATOS report, the decision maker has no medical knowledge ask for a copy of the score sheet when you request your report and you will get 1 sheet of paper with what I would describe as a section of excel (boxes) where the HCP can fill in a points award then the decision maker can then see the points award given by the HCP and then duplicate them.

I have my score sheet and this is exactly what it appears like to me
Someone please tell me what money is
  • I don't think you hould blame ATOS or DWP - you should blame the people who have abused the system over the years.

I appreciate that the OP would have been in pain doing the tests, but surely they would have been able to identify this by body movements etc. I think that the DWP have been forced to put people in pain to sort the genuine from the blaggers so to speak :-(
