One huge flaw in your argument - ATOS does not declare anybody fit for work. The DWP makes that decision.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Any idea how long it will take before i can get a copy of the medical report? i only had the medical today, its drving me crazy now i just want to know what she has written!

The amount of stress this is causing disabled people is shocking. appeals are taking over 6 months which is just constant stress put on people who are already struggling to live their lives with a disability we dont need all this added stress.

im so angry right now, i can just see this having to go to appeal, and its not just because the examiner got it wrong its because the examiner is trying their damedest to purposely disallow people. i can not express how angry i feel how can they get away with this!

Dont be so stupid you know exactly what the point is and thats atos are writing unfair reports in a way that greatly reduces the chance of the claiment been awarded making the decision just as much in the hands of atos as it is for the dwp

phone the dwp in the morning and inform them you wish to begin the official complaints procedure against atos because of the way they treated you, then refuse to have anything more to do with atos due to your ongoing and unsettled complaint, tell the dwp to contact your consultant/surgeons etc if they require any information about your condition, then make an appointment to see your local mp and tell them what it is regarding, i did, worked miracles, everything sorted out properly within 10 days including arrears, i didnt even make it to the mp appointment they acted so quickly
  • As far as I am aware its not a written report thats done as such they tick boxes on pre determined questions. My mum had her medical last year and at that time she was awaiting a full hip replacement, was in constant pain and wheelchair bound. She was left waiting in the waiting room for over one hour and my dad basically said that if she wasnt seen within the next 5 mins they were leaving. Only mum dad and the doctor were present as the nurse by this time had gone home!
She got her report and did pass the medical but the doctor has wrote mum sat on a plastic chair for 1 hour when she was in her wheelchair then said the nurse had done a b and c when there was no nurse. When mum complained they said sorry but its a computer generated report and you have to tick boxes so the fact they lied was not relevant
Good Luck but complain now it can take 6 weeks for your report

DWP get their information from ATOS and ignore any other information given by the person attending the medical. My husband was also found capable of work, scored zero points, and, has terminal cancer.

There is no argument. The first three are press reports. The fourth is an investigation.

If you don't like the facts, or find them otherwise inconvenient, I would suggest that you take it up with the Daily Mirror, The Guardian, The BBC, and the Citizens Advice Bureau.

DWP decision makers are not qualified in healthcare and I cannot see how they can make a decision on disabled patients with regards benefits.
    Correct.

Atos rejects necessity of medical examiners possessing specialist diagnostic qualifications.

I feel both DWP and the mickey mouse organisation that is ATOS (originally a technology company) are both working together with the primary aim of removing most people off the benefits.
    Correct.

Well, there's certainly this one ...
