Unsolicited catalogues (Betterware)

  • Let's get at least one fact straight.
When I am delivering my catalogues I WILL NOT deliver any catalogues to households that display a sign requesting otherwise unless specifically asked to.
I collect my catalogues when I say I am going to do and I deliver my orders when I say I am going to do.
Should a catalogue be put out and a note enclosed requesting no further catalogues be left then I will respect that householders request and not leave further issues.
Many householders are respectful back when you are respectful to them. I guess we as Brits struggle to be respectful much of the time, it shows when you're out in the street, in the pub, in the shops etc etc.
If anyone does not want a catalogue all they need to do is a) return it to the distributor as it goes through the door (if you see him/her) or b) simply make a note to the effect of not wanting further issues. Do not forget that we need to re-package and let other people see these catalogues. Again respecting your neighbours or people who live around you.
I call on many homes and see Avon and Kleeneze catalogues, the same ones on doorsteps from week to week and my round is a 6 weekly one!! No wonder some people are annoyed, gives us who are responsible and reliable a bad name.
  • Maybe all the Betterware / Avon or any other reps should all quit and go on the dole instead. No more walking around in all weathers being a menace to society, and all those cosy evenings spent sitting on the sofa watching t.v. Then you could start moaning about lazy dole dossers who do nothing and cost you all soooo much extra tax every year to keep them in hobnobs.
They are making an effort to earn a living and does it really hurt you so much to put a catalogue out for them? Do you really think they enjoy coming out in the freezing cold and getting their books ripped, destroyed and disposed of, and getting lectures of the great and good who have managed to find employment to fit in with their families and lifestyle, just because they have to pop out a catalogue?
I feel sorry for them because they are getting slated for trying to make an effort and earn some money and even sorrier for the ones who have had the misfortune to have met some of the moaners on here who are so proud of their bad attitudes.

In the original post the OP complained about these catalogue people not putting catalogues properly through the doors and the inherent security risk of half hanging out catalogues and leaving the letterbox open to the weather. If they are so self absorbed and that thick then yes they should be on the dole.
    The man without a signature.
  • I am a betterware distributor and if you put the catalogue on the door step the nobody needs to knock at your door unless you make a order.if it really bothers you then put a note on the catalogue. Simples . I'm doing betterware coz I ain't had any gardening work for ages . I also put my flyers through at the same time . I would say 90% of the people I deal with are polite . The other 10% have there heads up their bottoms !. If any one swears at me , I will insert the latest copy of the catalogue up their harris
  • Been working for Betterware for 5 months now and love it...increased sales every week and some great regular customers. I served 16 years in the RAF and fell upon hard times after losing my civvy job through redundancy. It's like any job, the more you put in...the more you get, and believe me I have served in most warzones and this is not really work lol. Anyway, I have come across tons of rude people going door to door and if only they knew my background before judging me, I would be happy! To all the distributors getting knock back after knock back, stick it out, build a good customer base and relationship and never give in to the doom merchants, of which there are too many on this forum for my liking! I'm making decent money and have a smile on my face every day!

Where is this Valhalla for D to D sales where customers flock to buy overpriced rubbish you can get at most £ shops ?

I just pop it behind a pipe on the day they're coming thats near the door and they collect it from there.

There's been a ridiculous number of cold callers lately that Ive now put a sign on the door so we shall see if I get any more.

The plastic charity bags actually do my head in.

So how much is this decent money that you are earning and how many hours a week do you have to work to earn it?

Then prepare to be arrested by the police - you've just admitted that you'd batter someone who you've cold called upon in their own home, which is their private property.

The fact you've made this threat / remark is assault.
If you actually carried it out, that would be battery.

It works out, on a good week, around £10 an hour....but it depends on how many catalogues you are prepared to deliver and collect...gotta admit I'm bordering on obsessive with the amount I put out lol
