Unsolicited catalogues (Betterware)

No-one advocates being rude to collectors [except perhaps those who ignore signs saying no Cold Callers etc].
Since you have 'lower fixed costs' why are your products so massively over-priced??? [That's rhetorical BTW].Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I do know what rhetorical means. So this is a general answer, not one to you.
How do you work out the price of an item (all businesses not just Betterware). You estimate what the public will pay.
How do you work out the cost to sell the item - All costs associated with procuring, marketing etc.
The difference equals the profit, sometimes the loss.
There is no direct relationship between cost and price. There is cost, price and profit.

And that is your decision, the cold calling sign is defined by the Government not us.
It actually makes it more difficult for us.0 -

Where did that gem of information come from, can you please provide and link to the relevant documentation/legislation to confirm this statement.0 -

I believe that betterware aren't classed as "cold callers" because they drop the catalogue off before and then return a few days later after you had chance to read it.
I know surrey council don't class them as cold callers in their cold calling zones
"Cold Calling Zone is not designed to prevent people from distributing leaflets or catalogues such as Betterware or the “Avon Lady”. It is also not designed to stop people on legitimate business such as gas, electricity and water meter readers"This is a system account and does not represent a real person. That may be applicable to a 'Cold Calling Zone' but I would dispute that that applies to signs on peoples private property.

They are still doorstep traders and from the MSE link above I would think this may apply:-As Trading Standards says, it's a criminal offence for traders (not charities/relig groups) to ignore cold calling signs under the regulations on our sign. If they persist complain to the company and to Trading Standards.0 -

I think the whole thing is probably a bit of a grey area.
The worse type of cold calling are people who knock on your door with a bag of goods they are trying to sell (or those charity people after debit card numbers).
Betterware are pretty harmless in my opinion. The catalogue comes through the door, then a few days later you have to hand it back to someone. I've never really thought it was an issue. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It is a bit of a grey area, but as the Trading Standards itslef states it is not designed to stop catalogue companies. It is to stop rogue traders and distraction thefts.
If you don't want a catalogue, tell the distributor. They don't want to waste catalogues on people who don't actually want them.0 -

I'm not in when we get our weekly catalogues through the door, each time from a different person. Am I expected to take a day off work to inform the distributor that I don't want their catalogues any more?0
