Hey guys, quick stupid question...when reclaiming, do you go through head office or your local branch on the template??0
-
I have been trawling your site, which is fantastic but can find no precedent of accounts being sold. My loan was with first national bank and they sold the account to asset link for collection, can you claim back from the collectors or is it a lost cause?bizarro15 wrote:Claims can go back 6 years. (And some people are challenging even THAT limit). Get all your statements and go get 'em
I'm very angray about this as it was a loan secured on the house, which i sold over 3 years ago, but due to poor communication on their part could not get a settlement figure...paid off more than i borrowed and they left it for a year and then sent me an outstanding bill for interest accrued and charges...still paying it off now!0 -
having filed my claim online but without including my a/c no. or the breakdown of the amount and interest claimed( i figured i'd given them all that in my previous 2 letters) abbey have now written to me asking for this info. do i give it to them direct-again-or via the court claim process?
hopefully, sparkyspice0 -
i dont find this site easy to use at all, although i know it's a great resource. can anyone tell me how to find any responses to my questions/posts? and why is the time always incorrect?0

Well, here goes!
I have just posted my request for details of charges to Nationwide after speaking to a very pleasant senior advisor at their customer services department.
She advised me of where to send the letter and who to and told me there will be no problem with them providing the information as requested. She even thanked me for my call and wished me a good day!!!
How long before the attitude changes I wonder?
Wish me luck folks.;)0 -
Dear Friends,
TIP #1 for today..... after clearing my home out of paperwork I found my last 6 years bank charges. :rotfl:
It is a shame that it cost me £10 to order them before christmas...
OH WELL.... I guess another few trees in th eamazon will be cut to make the paper for all them statements.... :eek:0 -
Hi I'm new here and loving this site.
I'm seriously thinking about reclaiming my bank charges. You say you have to send off for the information but I have only been with Nationwide for just under 2yrs and on the internet banking I can pull up the charges. Is this sufficient as it is only 2 years worth? It amounts upto nearly £600.
Thanks

I'm intending to try reclaiming charges i have received in the past from my bank - Nationwide BS. Couple of points i needed to check before i begin though;-
1) I have previously,on several occasions belly-ached to the bank at times when I've received charges. They've refunded some charges before - without too much fuss but i reckon I'm still probably a few hundred quid out of pocket.
If i ask them for the data on the charges (with my tenner!),over the previous few years would it show where refunds have been made? Or will i have to check my own statements?
2) Assuming all goes well & I receive a refund. I see from other postings that the Nationwide are quite keen to get shot of customers after they've given them a hiding! This is fine as I'll have a 'parachute account' ready. However - my mortgage is also with the Nationwide. Do you feel they'll want to close that too?0 -
Hi.
I am definitely going to try to get my charges back. They have taken so much money from me and caused me to be overdrawn and unable to pay bills when I was waiting to get paid etc.
I want to send my initial letter. Should I send it to Halifax Head Office or my branch?
Cheers. Jess0
