My 14 year old DD, Samsung E370i mobile, bluetooth dongle, dvd, photo mug (bought them for her friends too) canvas kit, photograpy and art books, walbum, trendy PJs and lots of stocking fillers & chocolates.
7 year old DD, Bratz laptop (toy) all sorts of bratz things, boy dolls, poster, annual, stationary, duvet set, umbrella, card making things (cards & envelopes, stamps and punches) 2 dvd sets, atlas and a new teddy (a replica of one she lost) plus stocking fillers & chocolates.
I have spent about £170 on each.
I also buy them new pjs that I give them on Christmas Eve.
I would never get into debt for Christmas, and I won't buy rubbish or faddy things that won't get used.
As a child I had very spent on me but I truly loved Christmas, I remember thing all my Christmases had come at once when I got my first selection box and I remember my sis and I making our Sindy dolls clothes out of tissues and scraps of fabric. We used to snuggle up to watch The Snowman or the cronicles of Narnia, it always was an magical time of year.

not too sure wat my brother (his dad) is getting him yet, or his uncle, great auntys, uncles, nana etc. And aint got a clue what he will get at his mums house but he will be spoilt to say the least.
Each to their own, but that is totally obscene - these children will grow up to know the price of everything and the value of nothing. A six month old with four pairs of designer trainers? I've heard it all now.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
save your money on trainers for a 6 month old baby they prefer to eat their socks0

lol!
they do, that's probably why some people put trainers or shoes on babies who aren't walking yet - to keep their socks on/feet warm. or to get grip on a wooden floor when they are trying to crawl i suppose.
i prefer soft leather slippers (daisy roots/shoo shoos etc.) for outdoors. trainers always look really narrow and restrictive, both of my children have been a wide fitting shoe so designer trainers would never be any good for them, they don't come in width fittings so would do a lot of harm.
but each to their own. maybe her baby has narrow feet and is already walking.52% tight0 -

I think this is a good budget, you can get plenty for this if you shop around. I think kids like to see lots of smaller, and not so expensive things anyway. This is probably what I've spent on my youngest but I did get lucky with some good bargains. I've gone a bit mad for my oldest but I know she would have been happier with a lot less and her letter to santa reflects this.

 @ 5 months ? lol0 -
hum ... i'm a muppet
i was just thinking somebody told me their baby of 6 months likes to walk outside, with parents holding both hands. mine didn't crawl or walk at 6 months so had no need for shoes, either indoor or outdoor but i bought the daisy roots when he was nearly 9 months and didn't buy proper outdoor shoes until he could walk properly.
but i think i'm in the minority. at baby groups, singing sessions etc. we go to more than half of the non-walking babies are wearing shoes - mostly nike trainers.52% tight0 -
