Just got my emergency obstetrics referal through - Monday at 9.30. Which is fantastic in that its quick, but bad in that I'm supposed to be having my booking appointment at 10am! Midwife centre is closed till Monday morning so I've left an answerphone message asking to move the appointment.

My doc called the hospital last night, and they said to put me on a certain tablet immediately, which he has done, but this morning I woke with a splitting headache which apparently is a side effect. Looking forward to seeing the obstetrician and hopefully getting things a bit more sorted.

    Hi Everyone,

Had my 12 week scan yesterday and everything went well. I almost cried when she said your risk of miscarriage is now less than 1% - a huge relief to me (hopefully I won't be in that 1%)

I am bang on twelve weeks now and am moving over to the other thread so goodbye for now and best of luck to everyone.

Gtothec - congratulations on your scan!

I had my scan yesterday for week 7 and it was amazing. The doctor put me to be 7 weeks and 1 day, and EDD as June 17th. The measurement on the screen came up as 7 weeks and 3 days. We are really happy. Have another scan (or fun, as doctor described it) on November 17th.

And the best news ever is that at the moment we are expecting twins! So, both embryos implanted.

I am I still can barely sleep, although I am very tired. The excitement of it all still hasn't worn off.

Yes, anything can still happen, but I decided to enjoy every day I have, as I can't remember ever being as happy as this.

Hello, sorry I've been missing in action so long. I had the scan which all went wonderfully well :) then the next day we were off on holiday so I didn't get time to post. I guess I have to move over to the next thread now :( Sorry to be leaving you all but I guess I will be chatting to you all again soon.

I noticed some chat about vitamins in pregnancy. I took pregnacare throughout my last pregnancy but now that I'm past 12 weeks I'm going to go for something without folic acid as there was something on tele not too long about about babies being born high in folates having increased risk of lots of diseases. I'm not sure the research has been confirmed but just to be on the safe side I'm looking for an alternative. My doctor also said to stop taking folic acid after 12 weeks but didn't go into details.

Hey skintchick - thanks very much for your message!

I have had a couple of friends who had miscarriages and I agree with you it is important to have people there to support you (either way). I am really sorry for your losses ((((HUGS)))) and I can totally understand you holding back this time, but thank you for sharing your experiences. Fingers and toes crossed for all of us.

My trouble is along the same line as yours on the secrecy front! I can be a social butterfly at times and wine is my tipple of choice (so I will be rumbled easily too) :p

    Moneysaver12 - mine was 15 September!

    Starfish1975 - Congratulations! :T

Ginvzt - that is rubbish about your OH's friend. I feel for you! I think people just don't think before they open their mouths. Good point on the leap year calculation (although I appreciate that it is only an approximate date anyway...) and CONGRATULATIONS on your news! That is amazing!!!!!! :T

I have been chatting to the wife of one of my work mates who is due any day now. She said pretty much the same about EDDs and scans. They changed the EDD every scan with her!

Thanks for the message Triangle! I have had a much better few days (hope everyone else is doing well too!). Lovely dinner out on Friday with friends and a wedding yesterday!

I can't wait for next weekend. My best friend is visiting and I am going to tell her. Plus I have next Monday off to spend with her so bonus long weekend! I can't wait. I will be nearly 8 weeks then and I know she will be over the moon for me. I wish she lived nearer (we have been friends since 13), but it is me that moved away, so I can't grumble! :o
