Gtothec - congratulations on your scan!
I had my scan yesterday for week 7 and it was amazing. The doctor put me to be 7 weeks and 1 day, and EDD as June 17th. The measurement on the screen came up as 7 weeks and 3 days. We are really happy. Have another scan (or fun, as doctor described it) on November 17th.
And the best news ever is that at the moment we are expecting twins! So, both embryos implanted.
Yay!! Congrats! I had twins from ivf

Popping on to say hi! Lurked for the whole of my 1st pregnancy (think possibly pregnant at the same time as skintchick last time too!) but felt I ought to come out of hiding this time round!
Baby monster 2 due on 2nd July :-) :j
Just found out tonight and can't tell anyone in the real world but desperate to tell someone!0 -
Congratulations, babymonster!
I am so tired this morning. I am also getting more and more out of breath - probably side effect of lack of sleep! It is quite abd this morning, that I was out of breath by the time I walked from the car, did one flight of stairs and got to the desk - it looked like I did a 5km run, or something...
I booked an appointment with GP for next Monday to 'start the ball rolling' - was offered one this Friday, but I have a meeting, so it would be hard to fit it in.
Also, requested the Maternity policy from HR - and asked how do I need to go about informing the company about the pregnancy. Will have to wait and see what they come back with and when!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Hi everyone,
I’ve just come over from the TTC forum as I had my BFP over the weekend. I’m so flippin’ excited and I can’t tell anyone ‘real’! Well, OH but he doesn’t count, bless him.:p
I know you’re supposed to wait 12 weeks but is that 12 weeks from the first day of your last period or 12 weeks from conception? Or some other date that the GP makes up?
I might tell my immediate family sooner (but still not for a while yet) as my mum, dad and sis smoke. I don’t want to breathe in their fumes and can’t think of a good enough excuse to stop them!0 -
First of all - congratulations!
There are no such thing as you are 'supposed' to wait until 12 weeks (it is 12 weks of pregnancy, so from first day of your period). People choose to wait, as there is high risk of miscarriage in first 12 weeks.
We didn't wait - we told our parents as soon as we got the result (so, week 4), and we are telling our friends as we see them. Oh, I was going to call one friend today to tell as I will not be able to see her for a while.
The thought is that if something happens you don't what others to know. However, my and OH's thinking is that we are very happy and want to share this with others, and if something happens, we might want the support of others. It is a bit different if you want to call a friend in case something happens for a cry, and the conversation starts 'you don't know, but I was pregnant. However, no more - and I want a cry'.
So - in he end - it is a personal choice. some people wait even longer. I didn't find about some of my friends being pregnant until they were 16 - 20 weeks! I think I was feeling a bit upset at that point, as the particular friend knew we were trying for a baby for number of years, and still wited to tell us until 16 weeks gone!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Congrats on the pregnancy! As for being out of breath easily, have you checked your iron levels and intake? My sister suffers from slight anaemia and one of the symptoms is being out of breath unusally fast.
OK, b'ggering off again now.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

No, I haven't checked iron levels. Unless they did it in the blood test as part of the trial, but I doubt it. I am taking my pregnancy vitamins, so I should be getting some. I think it is just tiredness. Anyway, if it continues, I will mention this to GP when I see him next Monday.

If you want to get an idea if iron levels are a problem, if you look in a mirror, and gently pull down the lower lid of your eye, the inside of the lower lid should be a deep pinky red colour. If it is a very pale pink, it signifies your iron levels are lower than they should be. The supplements you are on should have iron in, so thats great, but it can be hard to absorb in tablet form. Having iron and vitamin C together, helps your body absorb and use it, so try having OJ with the tablet.
Having said all that, tiredness rules in first tri, so just take it as a sign (excuse!!) to rest as much as possible!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Yes, I know - I amtrying to spend my evening on the sofa withthe feet up and go to bed early on if my cat allows me!
I did know about the eye lids for the colour. But I do remember when growing up being told that i might have low iron because of the colour, and it never was the case - I think I have naturally pale colour anyway!
3.5 hours left at work, then drive home, need to stop in the shop to get some sweets for the kiddies, and then the Slimming world meeting (I am still going along, although I am not really following it anymore - it just keeps me in check a bit more, and I see some people, even though I don't talk to many.... - might have to stop going and put the £5 a week in a separate pot for the baby fund!)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
