    Where are you all?...

I am struggling to work, I want to be at home with my feet up and cat on my lap. I am off to Boots after work today - my toothbrush stopped working yesterday morning, so Christmas shopping evening sounds like the perfect time to get a new one and add some extra points to already "reasonable" Advantage card balance.

Hi Gin  I'm here! :D

Today I attemtpted to go back to work, have been off since diagnosed with a UTI on Sunday night...but only managed til lunchtime :( It's really knocked me for six, feel totally exhausted. But antibiotics are kicking in now.

You've just reminded me I need to start thinking about Xmas shopping - only 2 paydays to go!

I was getting a lot of dizzy spells until a week or so ago - blood pressure came back normal, iron levels came back normal - nothing was ever found to explain it and they seem to have died away a bit now.

I was going to have a look in Boots today for Christmas presents, but I am likely to wait until the next event, as I already have a list for £100 of shopping this time. Just to ease the blow to the wallet.... And I would like OH to do a bit more this year.

Blimely girl, that's an expensive shopping list  I'd like my DH to do more too....but I know I'll be doing all presents except my own! ;)

Have spotted some cute 'guide to being grandmother/granddad/aunty' books that I want to buy now for my mum dad and sister...I'm so excited about telling them, don't know how much longer I can keep it in!

Well, aim back and I spent £165!!! But, I sorted quite a few Christmas presents in that, £20 gift card for friend's birthday, my electric toothbrush, and some other bits. Missed another 1200 points by £5 - probably will never forgive myself!!!

Hey Triangle. Big fail on that front for me - we have told Mr L's parents and sister already. Really lovely though - great responses. I love the idea of those books though. Might have to get some of those myself as Christmas presents!

Hope everyone is feeling ok today! I have had a bit of a shocker. Had growing pains/twinges on and off all day. Still have them now. Not pains as such, just discomfort.

Call with Doctor was a bit useless this morning too. Nothing I haven't read in books (although I am not sure what I was expecting!). Although she was lovely, she couldn't refer me on... Suggested a first scan would be 12wks? :( She said I had to call into reception and fill in some forms to get referred to a midwife. I then called and checked with reception as that wasn't the case. I have to go to a local health centre instead and fill in some other forms. I then checked how long it was open on the website for the centre this afternoon and as it said 6.30pm, I left work early and rushed there. Got there at 5.30pm and there was a print out on the door revising the closing hours to 5.30pm  (I think mad face smiley is a bit extreme, but work was shocking too and I just haven't had a great day today).

I told one of my friends today and she was pleased for me, then gave me a lecture about how I shouldn't tell anyone at this stage as one of her other friends lost a baby in the 7th week. Not really what I wanted to hear (although I understand that there is that risk) and whislt I am sure she didn't mean to upset me, it did a little. I think I am "over tired" (Vauxhall advert)? :o

Have vegged out all evening and Mr L picked up a Chinese take away for dinner this evening. Not exactly the best day!

Hey ho, it is pay day tomorrow so that will cheer me up anyway.

Hey Lixi, that sounds very annoying - and complicated! Here we just go to the MW. I skipped the GP this time cos they don't do anything and I know the score now.

And yes, your first scan will be around 12 weeks. They don;t do scans any earlier than that unless you have a bleed.

your friend was rather insensitive! Yes, a quarter of pregnancies are lost in the first 12 weeks, but even more reason to tell some trusted people so you have support should that happen. My last three pregnancies we told family and quite a few friends, and as I lost two of those I was glad of the support.

This time, we've only told our close family. I did tell a friend because she asked, same with OH, his best mate asked as his wife saw pictures of us at a party and I was holding an orange juice so she knew! Rumbled! I also told a friend cos I saw she'd had blood taken and thought she was PG! She'd had the flu jab.

But this time I've not wanted to tell people because I can hardly believe things will be OK, and I cannot bear telling everyone that I have lost yet another baby.

But if you want to tell people go ahead - most pregnancies are fine after all.

THanks for all the replied re vitamins. I was taking the Pregnacare with Omega 3 capsules as well, but have now swapped to the ordinary tablets as they are cheaper. Not sure how important Omega 3 is really?

I am just counting down to my scan now. Don;t feel as sick as I did, but I know thats not necessarily a bad sign. 11 sleeps to go!

  • She didn't explain Lixi. She used one of those calanders that they have, if its take three months away and add seven days on then that gives me a due date of 23 June, not 24 like the Doctor said. My last period was the 16 September.
