i had the worst period type pains between 5 and 8 weeks, i endured MIL's "hmm, that's not normal" and my dad's " that doesn't sound right" and i had a panicky early scan at 8 weeks(they are only about £50 in my area) and bean was doing absolutely fine - no cause for concern whatsoever! I know it's hard but don't worry - worrying will only make you feel worse.
When you see the midwife you will feel quite relieved - yes, this is actually happening to you! and most midwives are lovely - mine really helped me put my mind at ease, don't forget to write down any questions you might have, hope you have a happy & healthy 9 months :)

Thank you :). Its strange when i'm having a load of pains i worry and then when they ease I worry. Oh well..... :). Just thought as well i should add myself to the list

I know of a few people who ended up weighing less after giving birth than before getting pregnant. I which I was one of those, but at the moment I am just eating... I have put on 2lbs last week.... And I still have a long way to go!!!!!

Congrats Alizee! Hopefully you'll soon be graduating to the next thread. When is your scan again?

    Welcome to the newbies!

    How is everyone doing?

I was reading in my Babycentre email yesterday for 11 weeks, that you can stop taking folic acid at this point because the neural tube has fully developed. Is everyone going to stop taking their tablets after 12 weeks?

I was planning on continuing the Pregnacare throught the pregnancy, because I'm not always sure I'm eating well enough and I like the backup. Is anyone else doing this? I'd not thought twice about it till I read the email.

*delurks* My doc recommended taking folic acid until 16 weeks just to be sure. Its so cheap on its own (50 odd pence in morrisons for a months supply) that I fully intended to but I've ended up getting some tesco pregnancy multivits that contain folic acid and I'll take these throught the pregnancy. i have a pretty healthy diet but I'd like to be sure I'm getting everything baby needs. *re-lurks*

Hi sexki11en - congrats on your result. Sounds like you have been through the mill (just a bit!). Yes I am counting from conception rather than first day of last period. Going on the normal basis (which admittedly I find a bit odd, I would be 6( maybe +1) today (fastest two weeks that have ever gone by:rotfl:).

Thanks Ginvzt and Kaemi - spot on :)

Hey Jovi - I feel like I am suffering with it not feeling "real" as yet. I have a telephone appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning. Hoping my roommate keeps to her normal routine and comes in a bit late!

    Congrats Alizee!

Skintchick - I am planning on continuing to take Pregnacare throughout I think (I see it as a back up like you say!). I am thinking about getting the one with the Omega3 supplement though too as there has been a lot of press about how important that is recently.

Will add myself to the list in a mo :D
