Can't help feeling a bit annoyed with myself now for allowing them to put me on a new tariff. Ah well we live and learn. And it is still cheap.0

Your contract doesn't end so no need to extend if you don't want to. At the end of 12 months you just move on to a 30 day notice period.0 -
I'm still part way through an initial year with them and I thought I'd signed up for a set price. Now they want to change the goalposts. Think it's £10pm now, but they seem to think a £3.50pm increase is worth little more than a two line letter. That's 35% in my book!
What should I say when I call them to get the best deal?0 -

Don't think you (or others) need to get too hung up on this.... unless you do a lot of downloading torrents etc then I doubt you will see any difference. In fact it the traffic shaping gets rid of some of the heavy downloaders then you might even see a better speed.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

Some really good advice on here.
My price was increasing from £10.21 pm to £13.00 pm.
One phone call and given 3 months free(not 6 mths unfortunately) then £13.00 per month for a 12 month contract.
Very happy with 02.0 -
It's not the download cap I would worry about. It's the speed restrictions at peak times - down to 250kb/s. Check out Post 82 on this thread.
Why renew? As long as you are on the legacy package you will stay on it. Of course we cannot foretell the future - O2 may eventually force eberyone off them.
I decided to stay on the standard package. What brought it home to me was Jem16's reminder about speed restrictions. I don't download a lot but I'm watching more and more iplayer, streaming etc so if the new package wasn't going to allow that it was dead in the water.
Had to push a bit for the six months free because they first offered £7/month or six months free if I moved to the new package. Just hope in 12 months time the standard package will continue to be offered.
So thanks for the sound advice.0 -

Need some help guys.
Currently with BT for landline and have the anytime package for £17.50pm (contract is on 1 month rolling basis)
Broadband with o2 on legacy (home premium) at £10pm ish with the discount.
o2 has offered £13.50 for the anytime package including landline and the works broadband package with a 250GB allowance pm. It looks like a good deal but I'm not sure about the cap. We play Xbox 360 and the PS3 everyday for around 4 hours a day, download around 2GB a day and go on Youtube alot, though no MSN etc.
I should be ok right? Currently paying £27.50 pm, new offer from o2 will make it £13.50, saving £14pm.0
