so the 14 day cooling off will have no impact??

You will be allowed to cancel.
    and the mis-selling??

There were so many posts. I did read it BUT It never registered at the time of speaking with o2. As over the phone don't they have to mention all the key point!!

Probably - but can you prove it?

Don't think the 14 day cooling off period applies to upgrades, it is for new customers.

It does apply to upgrades too because you are entering into a new 12 months contract.

I'm sure it does apply as you are entering into a new contract so entitled to the 14 day cooling off period so would be entitled to cancel if it's not for you.

Unfortunately there is no way back onto the old packages because they don't exist any longer.

With the legacy packages is it possible that the retentions team have usage data available so are being accommodating to light users and awkward to heavy users? Maybe would explain the apparent randomness of the responses.

    hi all
i have had o2 for YEARS ( pre 2009 i thnk) i have not had any email about price increase and dont no my log in details as it was so long ago.
When i signed up i did have an o2 mobile, now however i havent.

    Nov 2010i paid £15
    dec 2010 i paid £15 per month
    jan 2011 10.21

anyone got any idea why this may be? also anyone know what my package cost will increase to? i cant go back further than Nov on statements :(

am i right in thinking if i accept the hgiuher costs the package will stay the same ie no traffic management etc?

thank you in advance, saves me ringing an 0800 number on my mobile :)

I've been an O2 mobile customer for the past 8 years. Broadband for the past 18 months, and its by far the best broadband package I have ever used. Great customer service, top speeds and of course, unlimited downloads for a very good price. In fact, I would probably have moved my O2 mobile contract elsewhere but Ive stuck around for the past year or so simply to get the better broadband.

After this increase (currently pay £7.50) I am now looking around and found Orange do a decent broadband package for £7.50 as long as you have an Orange mobile. Does anyone know if Orange do traffic shaping and is the internet truly unlimited? IN all honesty I probably dont download more than around 30-40Gb per month so dont really need a truly unlimited as long as they have no traffic shaping.

I'll tolerate my O2 broadband until June then move to Orange along with my mobile phone.

I was on £7.50 HBB standard package. Normally stream at least 2-3 hours of video online per day so presumably quite a heavy usage there. Rang them up and say I am ringing because of the price hike and straight away offered 6 months free and 6 months £9.50, remaining on the old package.

Probably not 100% accurate, but a fair indication.
