You would need to top up a minimum of £10 every 3 months to get the discounted broadband package.
I thought it was £10 a month not quarter?
Also, could I use my sisters o2 number for the discount (lives at a different address)? Her number is not allocated to any broadband for a discount - I'm thinking of switching my mobile to Vodafone you see.0 -

No. it's £10 per quarter. You can use any O2 mobile no you like (with the owner's permission), it doesn't have to be family/friend-just an unused number.
Even if you buy an O2 SIM and a PAYG phone yourself you'll still save £60pa by spending £40, so you're ahead £20.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks both, yeah I will have her permission and pays way more than £10 per quarter - o2 mobile deals are not really competitive.
Just reading about the broadband, and although it's a £1.84 price increase it's still good value for a non-throttled unlimited download (even though I get poor speeds). I was going to switch my home phone to them in June (when my BT contract finishes) but apparently they are forcing you to change your broadband packages - is this true (I read this on O2 forums)?0 -

Read my posts over the past couple of days. I wasn't forced to switch and have my Premium package for another year at an average of £6.50 a month ( new 12 month contract).0 -
You do realise they have swapped you off the unlimited downloads package you currently get for £7.50? And they would have given you the same sweetener of 6 free months to stay on that package for a new 12 month contract extension.
And check out Sponge's post #82 to see the horrors of traffic management that o2 carry out on the "all rounder" package!
If you are firm about wanting a MAC, and refuse their adding line rental suggestion they will give 6 months free on the standard unlimited package (currently £7.50 for mobile customers, going to £9.50 from 1/4/11) followed by 6 months @ £9.50.
An average of just £4.75/month for the year.
Yes I do realise all of the above thanks. I don't understand what the big issue is... so i'll have to download a film overnight instead of in the evenings... so what.....
End of the day i'm in a better position than I was before (new better router) for less money. Happy days!!!A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

There was a note about 14 day cooling off so I'll discuss further when the relevant dept is open again. If I can't change back I'll have to leave.
Unfortunately there is no way back to the legacy packages once you have been moved off them.I never thought about shaping @ the time accepting ALL ROUNDER!
It's a pity you didn't read this thread first.0
