phone o2, choose option 1, then 5 for leaving, then 2 for leaving, make sure your out of contract .......

As long as you do this within the 30 days after receiving the price increase email it makes no difference whether you are "out of contract" or still in.

If you are still in contract they will give you the sweetener to stay in exchange for a new 12 month contract.

Yep, I've got the Standard package for £7 a month now, in exchange for a new 12 month contract.

So, now that I've agreed to 12 months on the All Rounder, is there no way I can go back to my original tariff, because I really don't get this traffic shaping and how its going to affect bittorrent. I'm still in my 14 day cooling off period...

That package is going up to £18 from 31/3/11.

If you threaten to leave it seems they happily knock you down by £2.50/month. (And you could still separately get the £5 mobile customer discount as already advised by asturdy2).

its a friends and family deal i have so its going up to £15.xx

so a £10 per 3 month mobile credit = £5 per month off the bill ?

What 14 day cooling off period, that is for new connections not package/tariff changes.

Why did you agree to switch to a new tariff that you obviously didn't understand?

    Read the terms:
5 Switching your Home Broadband package
5.1 We’ll advise you if it is possible to switch to another Home Broadband package or tariff. Please contact us via your O2 online account or through Customer Service. If we allow you to switch your package, the actual speed and traffic management policies for your new package may be different from the package you’re leaving. If we allow you to switch, you may not be able to move back to your old broadband package and you will only be able to move to a package supported by your landline. Switching broadband package or tariff may be subject to you accepting a new Minimum Term.

Nope, I and several others have been told we have 14 days to change our minds.

That is to allow you to change your mind about the new contract you have entered.

Not the decision you made to terminate the old one.

Everyone gets that 14 day cooling off period when entering a new contract with them (you would have got it had you taken a sweetener to stay with them another 12 months on your old contract - though the sweetener wouldn't have been as good as the one you took for the new package!)

Hmm, I haven't received any email but was thinking of switching my home phone to o2 as well.

To confirm, if I do nothing my £7.66 bill will rise to £9.50? But still have unlimited downloads? That still takes it to £19.20 for a home phone with evenings and weekends and o2 unlimited download broadband. I'm not bothered about the speed as I only get 2.5mb max anyway.
  • Just got off the phone to O2. Broadband going up to £13 so I told them I wanted a MAC. Asked me what company I was going to, I said Sky, immediately offered me £2.50 per month off, which I refused. Then offered me 6 months free on a 12 month contract, then £13 a month, in effect
£6.50 a month for 12 months. I have been happy with the speed and service so took the offer. They confirmed I would get an email and would have a 14 day cooling off period.
