which option did you choose when you got through, "im leaving" or just "customer service" ?

phone o2, choose option 1, then 5 for leaving, then 2 for leaving, make sure your out of contract and compare them to someone like sky who are cheaper, make sure you keep the same package and don't move to one of the new traffic managed one's.

Wait a minute, these traffic managed speeds...I'm struggling to get my head around kilobits and kilobytes. Does utorrent measure in kilobytes, and that table in kilobits? If so, doesn't that mean on the all rounder I'm going to be seeing max 25kb/s in utorrent? That's no good for anyone! 250 would be fine though...

    Do you mean English speaking?

All the customer services I have ever spoken to with any company have spoken English, albeit some have heavier accents than others.

What companies do you deal with that don't use English?

to clarify, i meant english based call centres that speak understandable english and can understand what i say. I.E not based in india. A big selling point imo. I won't deal with any companys that have foreign call centres, thats my choice.

Well when I phone o2 I tend to get the Scottish based call centre in Glasgow, unless it is after 10pm in which case I get handed to the Leeds based one.
  • I have just phoned to say I was leaving as my package was going up from £10.21 to £13.

Very helpful lady agreed to a discount of £2.50, applied immediately. This means I will pay £7.71 this month, then £10.50 for 11 months.

I confirmed twice I will stay on the premium package.

Go for it everybody. Don't let a large company like this squeeze extra money each month out of many thousands of us.

That package is going up to £18 from 31/3/11.

If you threaten to leave it seems they happily give you 6 months free if you extend your contract by 12 months. (And you could still separately get the £5 mobile customer discount as already advised by asturdy2).

O2 aren't that bad, in fact I think they are quite generous given the experience I had in getting my partner added to the account in order that we both have full control of it.

    Thanks, I went for it!

They've given me 6 months free and 6 months at £9.50. Same package (currently £7.66). :j
