Called orange yesterday as i am out of contract, trying to get a deal on the Motorola V3. The 1st offer was the phone for free on any standard Orange or OVP tariff.
I then asked if i could get a tariff that offers better value for money ie. a 3 tariff, "which one" i was asked. I quickly logged onto their website and quoted their "talk & text 600" tariff - 500 mins X net + 100 text @ £30 per month. "We don't do that one" was the answer. "What 3 tariffs do you do", i asked. "Select 500" was the reply 500 mins X network + 30 text for 3 months as long as I pay £39.99 for the phone. Deal done. Go get'um moneysavers.0 -
My contract is due to run out in January. My service provider is O2 but my contract is with Singlepoint. So who do I haggle with, Singlepoint or O2?

Hi-I was on an O2 'anytime 200' contract (think it was £25/PCM)-out of contract on 6 Dec-phoned O2 (ask for the CRT department) & got 500 x-network mins for £25 (!) after saying that 3 had the talktime 500 for £25!
And a nice new phone! I've regularly been going over minutes so this was a bonus!
Chris
What is the CRT department? also whats the best way to go about this just ask for my PAC straight away when i ring up?
Whats the best tariff i could try get them to match? im currently on O2 getting 100 mins and 500 texts for £25 monthi like my texts!

I'm with orange and rang them to say that people were getting good deals being pricematched with '3' even though they don't say that on the orange web site,
as my contract has another 5 months to run they won't offer me anything but have told me to ring back nearer the time and I can be matched to any '3' tarrif I wantI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Well i rang them up but the disconnections department closed at 6
I like texting a lot and use at least 200 mins x-net a month and dont fancy paying more than £25, so what tariff should i try to get price matched?0 -
I sent them an email asking for my PAC code as i had found a better value tariff than my current one, and guess what offer they sent me...?
...none, just my PAC code in an email! lol guess ringing them is the way to go... :)0 -

The 3 tariff that Orange will currently match is call " select 500"
You won't find this on the "3" website as it is an older "3" tariff.
The tariff gives you 500 mins to any landline or mobile network + 30 texts per month for the 1st 3 months.
Does anoone know if the "3" tariffs include non geographic
calls?
I hope this helps0 -
Thank you Martin!
Was on: Orange plan, £14.89pcm with 60mins inclusive (NOT cross network), additional £4pcm for 60 texts with 8310 phone.
Quick phone call with a gentle query regarding equivalent priced '3' alternatives and immediately put on:
Orange plan, £15pcm with 120mins inclusive (WITH cross network), 30 odd texts and a new phone (free) 6610.
My last Orange bill totalled £46. This plan would bring the same bill down by a good 40%.
Lets see if it's too good to be true!0 -
Been with Orange for years.
Rang yesterday, my contract expires on Monday. They refused to price match the Xnet 500 for me, however offered me one that she thought would probably save my more money than that anyway.
200 x net mins
500 texts per month.
£25
My bills have been around £60 per month for the last six months for a little less usuage than that. So Im happy!0 -
Just spoken to O2, now got 500 mins + 400 txts for £25 ;D ;D plus i get a free phone (went for the Samsung E330 as its selected models only if you have the text bundle, if you do not get the 400 texts then you can have any phone). Im well pleased, many thanks to Martin!
BTW: when i first rang up they did not offer me anything and just gave me my PAC code. Rang up a second time and spoke to somebody else who was more than helpful, so it totally depends on which disconnections advisor you get through to.0
