Not entirely the same but I went back after 6 months with no trouble so no idea if I could have been earlier, that said I was paying full line rental so wasn't exactly taking them for a ride0
-
Received my letter of acknowledgement from Vodafone the other day re' my letter terminating my contract
Sorry to see me go etc but I thought they would've tried harder...
I gave them a phone tonight asking for my PAC code (Tried to sound like I wasn't sure if this was the right thing to ask for lol). "Matt" asked why I was leaving, so I gave him the spiel about being on a poor tariff (compared to what's on offer now), wanting a Siemens SL65 but they wouldn't give me the free upgrade when I phoned last month & that 02 were doing a £25.99 per month 100 anytime mins & 100 text phone costing £9.99. "Did I know they could try & beat that offer", me= "No, really?" He offered £15 line rental with 100 anytime mins & texts but the handset would cost £90. "Ahhh, but it's that time of year I can't afford to splash out £90 you know??!!" "We can spread it over 10 months sir, would you like us to do that for you?...".
I tried to sound pleasantly surprised & quoted back what he'd offered & commented that it indeed was a better deal than 02 lol.
I'd say to those that's had no luck, try again & sound pleasant but quite naive & you may get a result! So thanks Martin & all you ladies & gents, I'm about to recieve a newer phone at a price I'm happy with, the missus gets my cast off (Nokia 7250i) so she's happy too.0 -
How would this work if you tried it and you were an orange ovp customer already?
My ovp plan has NO line rental, I'm on one of the early virgin tarriffs and I'm totally fed up with the treatment orange has given me over the past 2 weeks about a faulty phone GRRRRRRRRRR >:(0 -
After several attempts this wasn't working for me (Singlepoint does seem to have pants CS), but once I wrote in they called me up, and gave me a Motorola V3 for FREE! As well as 3 months line rental and changed me from 100xnet mins to 200 for nothing extra.
Oh and they halved my text bundle charge too!
Not bad for a days work - considering selling it for £400 on ebay!2p off is still 2p off!0 -
Just renegotiated my contract with T-Mobile
Now paying £21 per month for 200 minutes off peak to any mobile 500 text messages.
Also took receipt of my Brand New Free swanky Nokia 6230 along with my Bluetooth headset (which I managed to get for half price!).
Keep haggling out there, there's deals to be had!

I could have had that phone ( nice one ) for £19 per month. Two year contract then £8.00 per month line rental after contract.
No bundles but 8p per min, any phone, any time and 7p per text any phone.
Plus free box to divert your landline calls to cheaper service. ;D
Only problem is no MMS or GPRS service until Spring 2005. >:(0 -
I phoned T-Mobile last night and asked for my pac code as i wished to transfer to orange. I was put through to cancellations and offered all sorts to stay, but i genuinely wanted to move so he eventually caved and gave me my pac code, just as I was about to hang up he noticed that the other phone on my account was coming to the end of its contract (my son's) and decided this meant i was going to cancel this one as well
so offered my £6.99 line rental for 12mths if I stayed. I'd had no intention of cancelling that one so happily excepted lol.
It may be an idea if people don't really want to cancel, and just want to be offered a better deal to just ask for a pac code rather than cancelling, this way you won't get to the point of having to back off, just accept the pac code then don't use it. No worries about having your contract cancelled then if you push it too far lol£2 coin savers club = £2880 -

Been with Orange for about 9 years in total, was on Talk 150, average bill with mobile override was about £30-35/Month
Just got them to match 3...... £25 month 500xnet minutes etc and a Nokia 6230 upgrade for nothing ;D
Well happy.....though reading the posts here I should have hit them for a headset or car kit as well ??? ::)
I`m not sure if it will work a 2nd time ?
