I was comparing my experience of Android. However on the plus side the Droid satnav is incredible.. I just would not now buy any phone that didnt have some sort of conformity to it. As an example of this iPhone (as well as old Nokia) have the charger slots at the bottom which, to me, is the obvious place for it. Why? well as an example my iPhone sits in its very nice Griffin holder which is in my cigarette lighter (are we allowed to call them that now?) and all is good. I cant think of a Droid phone other than the Hero which currently does that.

I have opinions, you have opinions. All of our opinions are valid whether they are based on fact or feeling. Respect other peoples opinions, stop forcing your opinions on other people and the world will be a happier place.

I've only had two android phones - the magic and the desire and they both had the slot on the bottom... and its a standard usb port not some "apple only" connector.

Apple haters who make idiot comments like 'as i dont play games or install fart machines i may not fit an Apple users profile as regards apps' are as boring and annoying as the idiot apple fans who say stupid things like 'well, just because you can't afford it...'.

Apple fans tend to be blind or fail to read .
In no way did i make any claim to be an Apple hater why would i have bought an IPhone if i was an Apple hater .

hehe...how many people have a fart machine app??, i know i do :D

It may be an "Apple only" connector but the fact it's a standard across almost Apple devices which makes it a phenominally large market. The fact many phones use other connectorsmeand it just doesn't happen for anyone else. Hopefully once they standardise on mini USB as a charger it may change.

You can walk into any shop or supermarket and probably many petrol stations and get a set of iPhone docking speakers. You simply can't do that with any other phone.

As I've mentioned before Apple market the iXXXX universe be that pod, phone or pad, they don't really market the differences, ie it's iPad, not iPad 32GB, or Ipad 64GB 3G it's just iPad. Most other vendors are selling the specific phones with a huge degree if fragmentaion out there. If it was marketed as Android it may be different, but it's not the case.

    I can.

(This simultaneously charges a spare high capacity battery, I can't think of a single iPhone charger that can do that ;)).

But will any other Android device fit it, or is a new cradle each time?

I don't really care. How often am I going to change my phone? A new base for the charger isn't a major expense when buying a new phone. ISTR the charger, cable, base and high capacity battery cost about £20 together.

True, but my point was that if the makers need to re-jig and retool for each new phone it's smaller market share than a standard iphone connector
