    Its doing my head in now !

    I have rang them up a further 3 times and spoke to 3 different people.I have tried telling them a friend was offered half price for 3 months and if they offered it to me i`d reconsider,ive tried asking is there any deals they can offer to keep me...they are not interested.They say they have contact lists which i`m on so i MIGHT get a call in the future but it will be after my disconnection.

    Ive tried different departments...no luck at all.I`m getting wound up now because to be honest i don`t want to loose it.I`m a big football fan and the service now on Saturday evenings is superb,i`d hate to loose it after over 10 years !

    I`m stubborn though and might end up kissing it goodbye just out of anger at not getting discount like everybody else seems to be.I`m not going to give up just yet though ! Only once have they asked for my account details to see if i`m on any lists so i`ll carry on until i`m on first name terms with the entire Sky staff !

    Best of luck mate, but remember they CAN see your details from your phone number. (Although they often ask for verbal confirmation of address etc.)

    Try withholding your number and see if they ask you then.

  • I've tried the cancel bit with Sky and they were quite happy that I cancelled. (Been on full package for about 10 years). Then spoke to neighbour who had leaflet offering him 6 months (yes SIX not 3) months half price. The leaflet says "Everybody's Happy". I rang to complain - but I'm not happy - and was told to put in writing. I did this - no reply. I have emailed tonight and also mentioned this G1 package which is not offered anywhere I can see on their website (or in literature thru. door).

    I am looking for something reduced but daren't cancel or will have a very mad household. What am I doing wrong? I may still pull the plug and turn on the radio instead.

    we have had sky on full package for 7 years and we got the half price deal last week,
    Hubby rang up and told them daughter off to Uni and she was the main person who watched it, that we had never bothered with it much so may as well cancel.

    Tried again this morning using the sayno to 0870 numbers.The first 2 or 3 i tried there is a pre recorded message saying this service is no longer available so i tried the switchboard number,as soon as i asked for another department they put the phone down on me,i tried again and asked who i was speaking to before going any further,they declined and told me they can not put me through despite everything i said.

    Tried the normal number,gave them my spiel and was given a number to ring...service no longer available when i tried it.

    Had enough now and will probably go through with my cancellation of the full package i was on.I don`t believe with the above comment that they know we love sky etc simply because i`m guessing the majority of people who got the discount were long term customers AND they are not making a single effort to keep my buisness and as a result i have cancelled.

    So in all i have saved money...£41 a month.That alone will keep me in a healthy supply of Dvd`s either renting or buying when there is nothing on normal telly.
  • I have just contacted sky and they have offered half price sports package until end of december after I said I would go to NTL. :D
  • My mother was on £20 month package but only watched ITV2 for half an hour a day. She has cancelled & only receives free channels but doesnt get ITV2, does she now need to purchase a freeview box to get this does anyone know. She also watches occasionally E4 but as she is struggling on a pension I told her to cancel. I will buy her a freeview box if necessary. Any help appreciated.
