Sky Discount For Existing Customers

I am only guessing but I think you may find that some of the better offers were made to those Sky Customers cancelling at the end of August. If the Retention team are on any kind of bonus system they are possibly rewarded for meeting monthly targets....if they hadn't met those targets they would be bending over backwards to keep you.
With it now being v early in the month the staff are probably not going to be so free with what they give away.

I cancelled Sky about a year ago They've now just offered half price for 3 months and 'free' landline phone calls for 12 months by signing up to SkyTalk0

This didn't work for me at all, I said that for financial reasons I was going to have to let sky go, finally after a lot of questions I got put through to another department and thought I was on my way but unfortunately she said okay and gave me a date 30 days from today that my sky would cease :-[ Not once did she offer me a deal and I've been a Sky customer for 7 years on the top package!! so in 30 days my Sky will be cancelled, my husband will kill me when he finds out that he will no longer have the football!I say what I like, I like what I say!0

I phoned last night about 11 pm. No problems - they offered me the full package at £20.50 (half price) for 3 months.
Until last night I was on the Family Package + Sky Sports (£33). The reason I gave was that my children are moving into their own flats and my husband and I no longer want Sky. They were very keen to persuade me to keep it and to try the Movies as well. Sky Movies arrived on screen within half an hour of phoning them.0 -
I got it on Tuesday (I think) reduced from £45 to £27, my sister got from £45 to £16.50 yesterday. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0

7 years on top package i am not surprised they didn't offer any offers because they know you LOVE sky ;D
don't worry about the 30 day notice just phone them up on 29th day that you have changed your mind for now!!!
they might phone you before that to offer you something.
and try to cancel it when the football season season is over and they will be offering you all sorts.

a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0 -
This is a great tip ! I'd already reduced my subscription in May, but after reading the posts called yesterday and back onto full package (no sport) for £17.50 for next 3 months. £10 less than I was paying since May. Just need to remember to call when time is up !0

Thanks for this. I called this morning and will now be watching a movie tonight.
Just to advise I was put through to a second person. I had to confirm that I wanted to cancel and was told by the gentleman that he would comment my account and then send a letter confirming the cancellation. When I agreed, it was then that I was offered the reduced cost (full package deal)...
Hang in there........0 -
i just rang and they were quite pleased to let me cancel, they did say maybe i should consider reducing my package if having money problems. it was only when i said how unfair it was that all these new subsribers get offered special deals surely they must be something available to an existing well paying customer. she went off for a little think supposedly chatting to manager and came back with the offer of half price onnection of my full package for three months..... i was well pleased.... thanks a bunch peeps0

Getting stranger, I rang up to change my package to G1 available again from 01/09/04 contains sky sports 1.2.3 disney & movies 2.4.6etc @ £33 was not expecting any deals just straight swap from movies currently @ £34. Was told this would be fine and indeed the operator was happy to see this package back on offer. I was told that I cannot change till 27/9 as I had altered my package 27/8? being in my first year of contract since upgrading to sky plus I was surprised to see that my package had been reduced by £7 for two months???!!! and sky had not imparted this information to me....... ???New Comper in 2008 wins zero  ho hum.....
