Sky Discount For Existing Customers

I decided to try this out and......it worked perfectly!!
Phoned up told the 1st guy I wanted to cancel, he said ok, kept me hanging for a few mins then suddenly said he was putting me through to someone else to complete it.
Spoke with this guy who wanted to know why, told him finances were a bit tight & to many repeats, he said he understood blah blah blah but would I reconsider if he offered me the next 3 months for half price. £35 down to £17.50. RESULT! ;D
I gotta say I got the distinct impression that the offer was highly dependant on how long I'd been a customer coz the 1st guy seemed to have been prompted by his screen to put me through to the next advisor.
Maybe for some of you who haven't been so successful with this, you've not been Sky customers for long or you used the wrong tact by asking them if they had a special deal??
I dunno but it worked for me with zero problems. All done in about 10mins!
Great Tip!!0 -
Just phoned Sky to cancel Family Package, told them due to money prob's, after being put through to a couple of different people have now been offered same package for £13.50 a month for the next 3 months. ;D0

Can someone clarify? I’ve read the responses which say that the offer applies if you are a Sky + customer. I’ve tried to access the offer but was refused. This outlines my current situation;
I am eight months in to a 12 month Sky + contract (to be fair it is an excellent facility) paying £30 a month which include two premium channels which currently Include (please note that the other channels listed are “bonus” channels that accompany the premium ones) sky Sports 1 and 3, Sky Movies 2,4,6, and 8 plus of course the Sky + which would usually be an additional £10 a month.0 -
???
turned out i was nt lucky..called up..lady said fairenough..disconnected in 30 days.

the arrears had built up over 2 years and the mortgage lender had NOT informed us, of course i agree that a house is more important than tv, who wouldnt ??? , but having just been informed that we had £120 charges added to our mortgage due to the arrears we had that we hadnt been informed about, (which luckily we were able to clear with our savings which are now nil
) a bit of free tv may have been good for my frazzled nerves!!!
trying hard to count my blessings while surrounded by idiots :O)0 -
Just remember to call them in TWO MONTHS time to revert/cancel otherwise you'll end up keeping the new package - and paying for it!
For cancellation it's 30-days notice as you say."I am not Geoff Vadar, I'm Darth Vadar"0 -
Great post, thanks!
Phoned as per above, said I wanted to cancel, was passed to cancellations and soon offered the 1/2 price 'manager's special' as he called it.
I now have the top package at £20 for the next three months.
This has definately got my vote for post of the month!0 -
This is a definite post of the month!
I called up, said I'd like to cancel as I didn't think it was worth the money, price has been going up alot lately with no improvement in programmes.
She put me through to cancellations where I had another moan, including a moan about the fact that you can't get rid of that pesky red interactive dot popping up every 5 minutes!
The man there said he could offer me any package at half price for three months - fantastic!
:-*
have since told family and friends and they've all got it too! NICE ONE!0 -
Just done it, spread the word. They ask a few questions but just say it is for financial reasons and they will offer you the discount0 -
Don't know what I'm doing wrong but I've now rung for a third time saying I'm thinking of cancelling the cancellation and still no joy - no special offers at all for me! Does anyone have an offer code at all? Think I might actually have to let the cancellation go through for a month and then try again. Not watching it much anyway. Perhaps they'll have some offers before Christmas.0
