Sky Discount For Existing Customers

I rang back this morning asking if I can reconnect at a later date, hoping they might offer a deal now but no joy. Think I will leave it for a couple of weeks and then ring back and say I've changed my mind but want to be put back on the basic package and see what happens.0

This is still working. I have sports package and just rang saying I have bought freeview box cos can't afford Sky anymore. They have given me the same package for 3 months at the half price of £16.99. ;D0

::)
I called last night and got my 1/2 price deal, but it did take 2 calls. The first of the day just said fine cancel, the second gave me my discount.
The young man I dealt with also told me about Sky+. He said DO NOT buy until Jan 05 as they are going to reduce the price, but apparantley are not making it public yet.0 -
We cancel the Sky every June for the summer and always get a renewal letter from Sky in Sept for half price full package for 6 months..........done this for the last 3 years now....ACE0
-
We've also done this for years with Sky. If you're not having any joy on the phone just end the call & phone back.
Also it worked with Netcom a few years ago saving £5a month.
Usually I use the approach "I am seriously considering cancelling your service" rather than "I'd like to cancel", normally you get the same deal but without being under pressure if you actually do want to keep the service.
Re Sky+ a friend has advised me that the sky+ box only plays back your programmes if your subscription is still active.
Say you desubscribe thinking you have 20 hours in the can & then can't play it?
Anyone know if this is true?0 -
At the end of the 3 months your package reverts to full price and is efficiently whisked from your bank so I usually cancel a month early & agree a termination date.
If you cancel after 3 months they will just accept it.0 -
My subs comes out of my credit card, didn't trust them with my bank details. I think I'll have to give the 0870 number a try, had no luck with the other one. If they let me cancel, all the better I'm wasting too much money on luxuries anyway. I'll buy an x-box with the savings in five months. ;D
ETA: Rats. Phoned the 0870 number, they offered me the deal. Done an dusted in three minutes flat. I really wanted that x-box as well.0 -
First tried one of the non 0870 numbers, was on hold for several minutes then just got hung up on.
I then tried customer services, told them I had my telephone & broadband through NTL (true) and said they had offered me a half price full digital package (£25 per month) therefore saving me £60 over 4 months. ::)
They took all my details (quite a lot actually: names, address, phone no's, back acc't details) before accepting me. The girl I spoke to said she had to put me through to the cancellations department to sort it all out. (at this point my heart was thumping, I didn't want to loose my precious sky). ???
I spoke to John, told him why i wanted to cancel (saving £60) and that of what I've heard about NTL's digital package I'll probably switch back in 4 months and that I just wanted to save a little money where I can.
He instantly offered me the 3 month half price deal which I accepted without hesitation. ;D0 -
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I cancelled Sky subscription last year. £40 was not worth it. They rang me in March this year and offered me the lot at £20 a month for 6 months.
I bit their hand off and saved £120
It will be interesting to see what I can negotiate when this deal is up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Having successfully received the new deal of £20 per month for 3 months instead of the usual £40, I was dead chuffed. Then I was reminded of the suffering in Sudan and felt suitably embarrassed. :-/ I have decided to donate the £60 I will save over the next 3 months to the emergency appeal. Oh well I would have had to pay it to Sky anyway!! Hope some of you will follow suit!0
