Blimey I've been on hold to Customer Services for over 15 mins now - thank goodness I'm using their geographic number combined with 18866 so only 0.5p a minute.
Just got disconnected after 16 minutes! >:(
Suspect after the Money newsletter went out this morning there are a few thousand people trying to get through to save a few quid!! :-/"I am not Geoff Vadar, I'm Darth Vadar"0 -

I cancelled Sky Last month - no attempt whatsoever to retain me - Just said thanks for your custom if you ever want to come back feel free to call us! C'est La Vie0 -
Disconnected yet again after 16 mins...I quit! >:(
Well until later on anyway, though I suspect from the volume of calls they're getting they must have smelt a rat by now, so the deals may have dried up..."I am not Geoff Vadar, I'm Darth Vadar"0 -
Hi
Just rang Sky, very helpful young man offered me 3 months at £20 instead of the usual £40. Excellent money tip. Thanks very much!;D

Just rang the non 0870 reception number (0207 7053000) and was told that they could'nt transfer me and I would have to call 0870 and that was the only way to get through to customer service!!!!!! (the cheek of it ) .... Used my money saving skills to say that I could not use 0870 from my phone as they are blocked and there is no way I can call them (not really HA HA!!!), hence why I am ringing her number and ......Pif Paf Puff (as the Great Suprendo himself would put it!!!) She put me through to the customer service line!!!!
Don't let them B...l Sh.t you give it them back!!!!!!
;D:

... if you already have a Sky system dont worry about waiting for freeview to come to your area and then getting a new freeview box as you can already get it with your existing system. It appears that for some reason (probably money !!!) the commercial channels ITV1, 2, cannel 4 and 5 can only be received if you have a subscription ...
Nope. "Freeview" is a set of channels available on Digital Terrestrial Television via your aerial. The set includes ITV2.
A Sky digibox without a card allows viewing of "Free to Air" channels (inc BBC channels) and when a current card is inserted it allows viewing of "Free to View" (FTV) channels. FTV channels are encrypted and require a valid card to allow viewing.
FTV includes ITV, 4 & 5 and can be viewed with a non-subscription card but ITV2 is only available with a Sky subscription.
The only way to get a non-subscription card (FTV card) at the moment is to cancel a subscription. This has not always been the case (I've never had a subscription but have a FTV card) and by the end of the year Sky are expected to offer a non-subscription package of box, FTV card and installation for about £150. At some point in the next couple of years Sky will probably choose to make existing FTV cards invalid.
With Sky it's always about money
