If you don't want to pay by direct debit just tell them you want to cancel it and be invoiced monthly, but you will incur a £1 administartion fee for this.
I then think you need to cancel it with the bank.

    Hope this helps :)
  • hi - also worth bearing in mind that at the end of 3 months the onus is on you to reduce back to your original package (or cancel ;)) - otherwise u will start to pay full price on whatever 'offer' package u have taken - no doubt sky will be looking at all of these 'upgrades' at half price as purely that - upgrades that will eventually be at full price.
Just realised that the free dvds that I claimed via the 'sun' offer earlier this week were also down to mr murdoch's generosity - sometimes life just feels sooooo gooooood :D
  • :D:D:D   It is a big YES to saving when you ring Sky. I told them that as off work sick and not getting paid (which is true) then due to financial constraints could not afford to spend £40+ a month for full package and wanted to cancel or cut down.
There was no hesitation on their part on offering me half price package for 3 months saving me £60 like all the others posting here.
    :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
I actually saved even more than that because I used the Alternative Say No to 0870 numbers and got put through on a local call rate. Thanks to all on here. :D :-
I don't think 0870 numbers are local rate.

sky insist that if im not paying monthly bill by d.debit that i have to pay £4 for the invoice to be sent out to me!. Even though you can find out your account balance on sky and when your next payment is due.... has anyone any ideas or tried to get the invoice charge taken off and succeded ??????

  • I have just rung the non-0870 number and was told firmly that I could not be put through. I said I wished to cancel my subscription and am not prepared to pay a premium rate to do this. I was told I could be put through to make a complaint then, and guess where I was put through to? Customer Services.
I explanied that I wished to cancel after at least 10 years with Sky AND THEY HAVE LET ME!

I presume that the retention team will be calling......
  • Girlfriend phoned last night and they let her cancel !!?? :(:(:( Says it will take 30 days ...but no offers! ???

Just did it!  Even after just coming off a 3 month offer for £30 pcm..!

Called to cancel - asked why said it's just too expensive...

They offered me to reduce - said I watch mainly films & sport and they offered me the full half-price package £20.50 per month, for 3 months.

Excellent   :D   I will be looking to cancel for real after that though...

If you wan to try it but affraid they'll really cancel you - don't worry, it'll take a month.. Just call them back before the month's up - say you've changed your mind.
