After being passed through three depts who said no - I stayed firm to cancel and ended up getting a reduction in my current package.

It must just be up to what type of day the person at the other end is having!!!!

If you don't get this offer call back and speak to another operator. I called earlier today, pleaded poverty and told them one of their competitors were offering me a better deal. They offered me £6 off my £19.50 package for 3 months. Decent offer but I wanted the full package deal so I said no and cancelled. I called back and told them That their competitors had now told me that they were going to charge for installation so can I have my account reinstated and still have the Full package offer that I was told about earlier. She couldn't give me an answer so transferrred me through to another and I got it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D thank you.

well when i rang this morning i got some joker who said we should have a household vote and see if majority ruled against cancelling sky.
no deal for us, and on top of mortgage arrears i could have done with a break!

i think roof on your head is more important than the stupid sky ???

but if you love sky so much phone again and you might speak to a different person and get the deal

Thanks ARB78 for the tip. Rang initially to ask for the promotion but lady I spoke to said no way. You only get promotion if you get a letter offering it to you. Rang back immediately, spoke to different person and said I wanted to cancel. Got put through to another department who immediated offered me 3 months at £20. Said best thing to do is ring and find out what promotion is on at the time. I think it depends on who you speak to and if they don't play ball then ring back and try someone else.

I just rang sky and had to bottle out at the last minute as she was going to cut off my sky has any body any tips as what to say to them as i dont think the misses would be to happy to come home from work to no tv. ???

Stick to your guns and say you're going to cancel. It takes 30 days to do this anyway. If they really cut you off, you can alway phone back and ask to put it back on before your missus finds out!

Spoke with a guy in the cancellations dept. who said that he'll process the request to cancel, OR... I could have the complete shooting match for £20 for three months ;D

Just remember to call them in TWO MONTHS time to revert/cancel otherwise you'll end up keeping the new package - and paying for it!
