OP, get in touch with the ASA. They may be helpful in this instance, this is exactly the type of thing they look at. They were very helpful to me when Index was on the go and I had a similar issue with a different item.

Personally I'd make as much fuss about this as I possibly could, Argos are in the wrong here. They need to supply what they advertise at the price they advertised it at, not substitute an alternative.
EDIT: Just noticed they wont be regulating websites until March 1st so may not have much help to offer yet in an official capacity, but they can still advise you.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Think you've gotta look it at from both sides here.
Yes. They are showing a picture of a bed with drawers. However, that is also a listing for a single bed, whereas the image is clearly a double bed.
No it doesn't state that it hasn't got drawers, but it doesn't state that it does either.
I think I would have been a little more careful in reading the description fully. I'm not knocking the OP here, we've all made mistakes, especially when ordering online. TBH I think the only way to go would have been to reject it under the sale of goods or DSR, and be happy with a refund and go elsewhere for your bed.

Correct, but you wouldnt reasonably expect a double bed as the advert states "Single", the advert doesn't however state "No Drawers"
No it doesn't state that it hasn't got drawers, but it doesn't state that it does either.
Flawed argument. It doesn't state it isn't a Ferrari but it most certainly isn't. You would expect to be buying a bed, with drawers.
I think I would have been a little more careful in reading the description fully.
Why? It doesn't mention "No Drawers" anywhere? OP could have read the description a million times and it still wouldn't have said "This bed has no drawers!" or "Photograph for illustrative purposes only"

I agree, but it does not alter the fact that Argos have been a bit naughty here.
Good Luck

Good LuckThe greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Because when buying beds, drawers are not standard....
I do agree that Argos are have been naughty with this and should have stated, however as previously stated, drawers are an extra.
The beds that have drawers in Argos are cleared stated With Drawers.

That's just on a quick look on beds. Those both state with drawers. Sorry, but if I was looking to buy a bed that had drawers, then I'd be reading all descriptions first to make sure they are, and as I said, I'm not having a go at the OP. Just seems clear to me that if Argos beds have drawers, then the state so in the description unfortunately this one doesn't state that...
And no from that description of that bed, I wouldn't expect to be buying a divan with drawers. But I can fully understand why the OP thought that they were.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

So why is that different from the Bed? If the drawers shown are not included, it should say so.
I presume this is because they would normally list the bed set with various size and drawer layout options. So it would be obvious that if you selected the option with no drawers, then it wouldn't have any drawers with it.
However it looks like they have just edited the listing for stock clearance of one particular model. So they have obviously used the same photo. What they should have done is stated that drawers are not included, but it appears that they failed to do this.
If you look on the bright side, the OP should be able to get a full refund because of this error on the part of Argos. Then they can go and buy a decent bed instead for the same money.0 -

I think you will find most people who've worked in bed/furniture shops would agree with me tbh.
In all fairness, I don't know what the OP wants with this? Doesn't seem to want the refund, as the bed with drawers is too expensive? I don't think Argos are going to give you a more expensive bed for the same price. I think the best you can/could have done is rejected the goods under DSR and got a refund. Along with a letter of complaint.
And for the OP they actually do have 2 drawer divans starting at £100, although you may want to spend a little big more and get a decent mattress
Ooops sorry, it's the 1 drawer divan that starts at £99, silly me rushing in when I've just finished work. See how easy it is to make mistakes?4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

I bought the bed in their sale £195.49 to return the bed and buy a divan with drawers is going to cost me a further £364.50 which I just can't afford.
Michelle where did you get your figures from? The same bed with drawers is £279.99. Get a refund for the first one, and if dad liked the bed it's an extra £85 for the same bed with drawers.

It's a Silentnight mattress with Miracoil springs :eek::eek:
Don't any of you do any research before buying a bed???
Get a refund and buy a decent bed for less money instead.0
