    Do you really believe that?

Are you seriously telling me that if you saw an image of a Mercedes on a website, with no mention that it wasn't a Mercedes, nor any specific text stating that the image was for illustration only, are you seriously saying you would be happy when a Mini turned up?

Just go buy a bottle of vodka knock your self out.

Not having this discussing with you anymore. I was making a simple statement and you turn it into a big slagging match.
  • The image clearly is that of a bed with drawers. There is nothing to say it is for illustration purposes. Like the OP, I would have believed, by looking at the picture, that it was a bed with drawers.

LMAO, I turn it into a slanging match? ( I assume thats what you mean as I can't recall ever having heard of a 'slagging' match) All I (and others) have done is asked you to point out where it stated that the image was for illustrative purposes.

First you insinuate its on the page, then you tell us that we are not reading properly. When asked to screen cap/copy exactly where it says the magic words you throw your toys out of the pram, tell us to go down a bottle of vodka and flounce off.

Somebody here looks stupid, and it certainly isn't me.

No- It is the person who insists that anyone who disagrees with them should drown a bottle of vodka . I would be worried for their sanity !

omg, As i said i wasn't quoting a site/page i was simply making a statement which applies to buying things where images are involved.

Is this what you do in your life, Look for things to disagree about on forums.

I believe the relevant parts are in red.

I don't look for things to disagree about generally no, but when you are giving someone completely the wrong advice then I, and others, will always correct you so as not to mislead anyone reading the threads.

The impression I get from this statement is something different !
  • Thanks for some of the replies I feel I am doing the right thing now and my letter is in the post to Argos. For anyone interested I will let you know the outome !!

Please do Michelle, and good luck. Though I sadly suspect the outcome will be Argos offering to refund you and collect the bed.

Ok Ok Ok. It doesn't state directly on that page jeez, I was merely pointing out a statement which everyone should know not to buy on basis of an image.

The Advertising Standards Authority has often held that an image is an integral part of an advertisement.

Why else would an advertiser include pictures?
