Hi all
I will try and keep this short. Ordered a single divan with drawers from Argos, delivered today no drawers. Rang Argos they said that because the description did not state that the bed had drawers then it wouldn't have any even though the photograph clearly shows 2 drawers !!! What, how can they do that ???
I bought the bed in their sale £195.49 to return the bed and buy a divan with drawers is going to cost me a further £364.50 which I just can't afford.
I rand Trading Standards who said that I should write to Argos and state "Under the sale of goods act 1979 the goods are not in accordance with the sample shown". I rang Argos again and told them I was not going to let it drop and they offered no further solutions, basically I'm small fry and they don't care!!!
Any help gratefully accepted
Michelle

Do you have the link?
Quite often they show one picture (Usually the top model) and then list the models available underneath it. Each listing should indicate the number of drawers..
This is often seen with many adverts. Cars come to mind, the model shown is always the top model and the prices are always "from" and then quote the lowest!
Or was it one bed description listed and one picture? If the picture is misleading then yes Argos should accept this.

VipesThe greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I didn't want to return the bed as the sale has finished now and it would have cost me £559.99 to buy the divan with drawers.
I bought the bed for my father who has just moved in with us as he's ill and we needed the extra storage areas. It's difficult as it is without all this extra hassle from Argos.
Basically I want what I thought I had ordered. I just want Argos to change this divan for one with 2 drawers.....I'm not sure that they will and its very dissappointing.
Any help I'm grateful for
Thanks

You won't get any joy with forcing them to provide you with what you thought you were getting, unfortunately. The most you can hope for, and you're entitled to, is your money back.0
-
The best you can hope for in this case is a full refund and even that wouldn't come without a fight.0
-
It just seems so wrong that they can show a photograph of something and it be so different to what is delivered. I have written to them but I'm not hopeful

Since trading standards have given you something to write the best advice would be to do exactly as they suggested. Unfortunately I think it's unlikey you'll get them to send you the correct bed but at least you'd get the money back so you can buy one with the storage.0
