Competitions Time - what's happening.

Can I suggest the regs is changed to a multiple entry board? Those that have a single prize that you can enter every day, month, week etc but with only one draw.

Monthly prize draws where you have to do something would be good on the main board.

Comps like Glamour or more recently the weekly metro comp where you had to enter each day would in my opinion be better on the main board. Maybe we could sticky/flag these so people could see them as soon as posted.

If we closed the reg board and it was all transferred onto here, you would all be moaning that you have all this extra comps to wade through that are only monthly, weekly etc... This is why the reg board was started as people were moaning and that was when we had 50 pages max of comps all in!!!

I still think the fair solution is to move back all the comps with an end date to the main board and leave the true 'regulars' on the regulars board. end of arguments in my eyes.

but do you mean 'all' comps with an end date (as there used to be lots of them on the regs board anway with and end date) or just move back the ones people are complaining about lately?

It's not an EITHER/OR question, they could both be available in their relevant places, just don't REMOVE them from the main board until their end date

I've just read through the last few posts since I was on last night and I have to ask the 3 (possibly 4) people who want things changed and everything possible moved across to the regular forum about their motives.

I noticed on an earlier post that someone had stated that for similar comps posted on both boards, the one hidden away in regs received 10% of the entries that the similar one did on the main board (I think both prizes were £2k). I thought we were here to help each other out and to post for the good of the community? surely the good of the community would be to make it possible for the majority to see and share the competitions not to hide away some just because a few want it that way.

For me, there's been enough chatter now, it's pretty obvious what we want and that is to have comps with end dates back on the main board where we feel they belong, if you really must have a poll to tell you this, please do it soon and get it over with so the bickering can stop and we can get on with what we are here for ........ helping each other win some lovely goodies

I want the boards how they use to be, with people posting competitions, there are alot that are not posting and I fully understand why, lets just have the poll and get it back to the friendly, sharing forum it used to be and not all this bickering and discussions!!

I have been comping quietly for a while now but felt I just had to say something. I am not sure whats been going on on the boards but it worries me that competitions may be going awol and I may have been missing them. I use both boards, I comp by end date and use the dailies and the weeklies regularly so its not a question of not wanting to use the regulars board. However I like the way comps get posted on the main board and then get linked to the regulars. It makes it easy to see whats going on.
Can we just have a poll please so I can get on and comp and know what I am doing? We don't want people not to post because of arguing, and I would like this to get back to being the friendly board it used to be.

WOW! In only 2 days there have been nearly 260 replies to this? That is amazing, and I apologise, am not lazy but this is the first time I've seen this debate and am coming in now without reading all the other replies. (It's a time issue, as probably is for most of us.)

I use the comps board and am extremely grateful to everyone that posts, however it's managed. I thank everyone whose post I look at, whether I enter it or not. I think the ENTERED button and the GAME OVER button are both excellent ideas, but I use the THANKS button so I can keep track of what I've seen but not entered as well.

I use the main board and I search by: (a) E: DD/MM, and (b) comp title (e.g. Chat or Real Deal or whatever). When I am up to speed, I scroll down the main comps board. But I have never, ever used the regulars board so can't comment on that one, other than, if comps have been moved, rather than copied, to there, then I won't see them or enter them. But that's my fault, not anyone else's.

The only gripe I have is when people bump with a "thanks". That's what the THANKS button is for. Where an answer changes weekly, then fair enough, it's good of folk to put the new answer and the comp should be bumped. But can the other posts be locked so they stay in the right place, in comp end date order?

Sometimes links don't work, usually they're temporarily broken and regular compers will know this and just keep trying. But if a link is permanently broken, maybe a PM to the OP so they can edit their post would be better than 537 people saying "it doesn't work". And if a newbie can't post a link, maybe a PM to a BG who can temporarily unlock, or a PM from the newbie to a regular who can start the thread with the link?

I agree, though, I think the first poll should be "do you use the regular board", and take it from there.

This might not make much sense writing it down, but I'll give it a try:
I don't enter comps that are "daily" but for one price only. For example a comp that ends on the 30th, but you can enter each and every day until the 30th with only one prize to be won in the draw on that day. It's not fair to question people's motives and I find that comment extremely offensive!

All we want is to have some sort of clarification and order to the place, having some regulars on the main board and some on the regulars has been causing confusion for a while, if there's going to be a regulars board, why aren't all comps that you can regularly enter (if that is what the definition of the regulars board is?) going to be on there.

ALL of the comps will still be available to see easily via the 3 stickies as the stickies will act as a directory of the board, so it's made easy for everyone else to enter, so it's not a case of 'hiding them away' from people!!

:mad: for goodness sake people get a grip!! competitions are posted on this site because the person that finds them kindly decides to share it with the world, i rarely use the regs thread as im usually fairly behind on date endings as it is... but i dont see what is wrong with how it all is at the moment ... if people are worried they are 'missing out' on competitions that are being put in the regs board instead then u have two options:
1: GO and look on the regs thread for the extra comps ( and enter them)
2: stop being so Greedy, be greatful for the prizes u win and get over it!:eek:

lets get this poll over with so that 'leave it all as it is'' wins and we can get back to comping not bickering about something that doesnt need fixing ( imho)
