    Does this make any sense???

Sentence one: Any car would do it
Sentence two: It was my fault

(1)Any car would do it if you exceeded the available grip.

(2)Basically a slight misjudgement probably caused the slides, but they couldn't have been huge misjudgments as you never hit anything, if somebody drove a heavy large family car then jumped straight into a small unfamiliar car you would need to adapt. you drive your husnabds car a lot, so you will be more used to that one..

Sometimes when what would be accepted as a tongue in cheek comment seems more harsh and abrasive online, I think a lot of the early comments where a bit tongue in cheek but didn't really come across online, could be wrong though.

OK, I haven't got a Peugeot, but I don't think they are that bad to be honest. Choice of car is personal, so what you like, I may not and vice versa.

A couple of things to consider:
    1. Definitely check the tyre pressures regularly (I check ours weekly)
    2. Even though the car isn't particularly old, have you checked to see what the tread depth is on the tyres - are they worn & need replacing?
    3. Don't know what make of tyre, but some are better in poor driving conditions that others, so when you do change, that may be worth investigating, as may a set of winter tyres.

I'd try those routes before I even thought about getting rid of the car - hope that helps a bit!

Thanks this is helpful I did think of this but was told that all weather tyres etc are a waste of time but a couple of genuine people on here have said otherwise so I may look into them

I really sympathise with you. It is a real problem when you lose confidence in a car. I haven't had chance to read every post but what make tyres are on the front?

I had similar problems with a Chevrolet Kalos and found out the tyres on the front (which were well over the legal limit) were rubbish in wet and wintry conditions. Have a check with this tyre review site to see if other drivers have the same problems with the same make and model tyres your car has fitted.

Personally I would cut my losses and sell it or advertise it somewhere as a swop. Good luck, a car can be replaced but you can't.

A proper set of winter tyres for winter use, all winter not just the snow are a good idea for anybody.

A lot of forum members have spoken about a Vredestein all weather tyre that has been given good reviews.

Thanks for this, that makes sense I appreciate you explaining. Not so sure about the beginning comments but maybe, just came on here upset, stressed and in desperate need of help and peoples comments did anything but help this.

Let's be fair, that's hardly a quality car is it?

Why was the car being repaired? Still not clear from the quick postings whether this is because of weather, driver error or car defect.
