If you are renting, I'd just move tbh. It's not worth stressing yourself over. I know these things can consume people and make them ill.0

Hi Ra,
We have also seriously thought about moving out but why should we, our kids are settled, we took a loan out and spent just over 6k to get it carpeted, new appliances as it all had to be electric etc.
We know of others struggling too and they have just been left to defend themselves but unlike our estate where we are working as one to get this sorted now they are working as individuals and appears this is not having the same affect i suppose quite obvious really.
One of these people and they don't mind me mentioning this because they gave me permission, they refused to pay the bill and the electricity company did no more but to come out early in the morning rip their meter out and install a card meter so they had no choice but to pay otherwise nothing would run, they too have 3 young kids and their house is absolutely freezing (16.1 degrees).
Not sure if anyone's system is piped the same as us but early hours of Saturday morning our house stunk of sewage, after speaking to these new people they have the same issue and we are led to believe there are 2 sewage pipes connected to the Nibe. One pipe is connected to the side and goes behind the nibe into the wall, on the wall outside the boiler cupboard there is a piece of wood screwed to the wall when they took it off a big sewage pipe was uncovered.
The second one is located under the nibe, if you take the third panel off you will see a white pipe with a trap, i think not fully sure yet need to do some more research first before i can fully say what it is but anyway this is where all of the sewage smell was coming from. Surely if there was a non-return valve i.e flow can go one way in these pipes then smells and i mean really bad smells should not be coming back up into the house. This is all caused by the drains getting blocked and i suppose if left too long does that mean sewage will come back up this pipe, if anybody knows more about this please help.0 -
Guys check out i was searching google and came across this and look on page 52 on the .pdf on this link http://www.inference.phy.cam.ac.uk/sustainable/book/data/heatpump/Nibe%20site%20reports%2026-04-2010.pdf look in page 52 and see how poor the nibe 360p performs in a smaller house than mine my house is bigger with what seems like not enough insulation now look at the total electricity consumption on page 55 and there is also a graph on page 55 of energy consumption throughout the day,
This report also has Nibe ashp and gshp listed in it it's a good read,0 -
Hi there mate,
It is a pain when you have just spent all that money, We do have the problem of the Nibe smelling but only now and then I do not know why that is ours is also very noisy and it is so loud at night times also it is a paint even trying to watch TV with it on,
As I write this it is 17.1c upstairs and the Nibe is pumping almost on full to get it to this temp upstairs and I have told Melin about this but it seems they have just ignored this and expect 2 children to sleep in it,
Ra...

No problem, Some more people have logged in the forum with the same problems with the nibe https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2816702 as with our problems i do not think this is the fault of Nibe UK just the fault of who ever installed these units in to the properties,
Have you got anywhere with your HA I have sent you a email btw,Ra, what a truly outstanding report, which will be passed on to those who should really see it.

How has your usage been over that last few days, My Nibe has been off at the mains due to I can no longer to run it as I had another high bill in the post on the 21st of January I have had no luck with my housing association I spoke to my housing officer on Thursday 27th Jan and am still waiting for a call back to see what is going on my partner has had enough now of the situation and she want to move out now as we can no longer afford to live here my children spent this weekend at their grandmothers and now go to their for teatime after school as we have no heating in the house we just manage with two portable heaters for a few hours in the evening and a hour in the morning,

Hi Guys,
I moved into a new Code4 energy efficient housing association house at the end of last year.
The house has the super green energy efficient Nibe fighter 360p installed.
In 47 days I have used £323 worth of electricity.
I have been monitoring my usage closely for the last three weeks and have managed to get the consumptiuon down to 40 to 50 units per day in the cold weather and 20 to 30 units per day when the temperature has been above 7 degrees C. outside.
I have used the settings suggested by Denial2010...many thanks to you.
I also have a PV Solar panel fitted to the property which has generated 45 units of electricity in two months. I am hoping that it is going to produce alot more in the spring and summer months to offset the winter costs.
I too have spoken to my housing officer about the high cost of running this exhaust extraction heat pump and have had a visit from the Nibe rep. I was told that I need to look at my lifestyle and that the high consumption must be down to me having appliances that use large amounts of electric. I asked the Nibe rep. about figures for energy consumption for the fighter 360p over a twenty four hour period and he could not answer my questions. I asked the housing association guys what the percentage of energy loss for the building is and they did not know. I asked what the projected heat input for the building was...and the could not tell me,and still have not.
The Nibe rep even suggested that I had adjusted the settings on the heat store to an extent that the immersion was kicking in every two to three days and set the alarm off inside the machine and that it showed in the logs. So I asked him to show me. He did, and the date of the log was the day the heat store was commisioned before we moved in. He did have the courtesy to apologise to me and said that all of the settings were now correct.
Looks like we are all in the same boat.0 -
