Guys, this is a quick heads up to all those people who are writing about their Nibe issues, i have been told today that Nibe are preparing to Sui me for the stuff i have wrote on here, not sure we live in a free spoken country anymore.
I've been aware Nibe have been following this thread for a while and in some respects I can understand why they would be annoyed. I've generally been quite positive about Nibe, it's the installation contractor which I have a gripe with (and understandably so). Perhaps this thread should be wrapped up for all our sakes?Mortgage Started: £131,500 (June 2010)
Mortgage Paid Off: £33,000 (25.1%)
Mortgage Remaining: £98,5000 -

Sorry don't agree!
If anyone posts criticism of any product, as long as that is their experience and opinion they are in the clear.
It is when the criticism is knowingly malicious, or untrue the problems occur.
Your opinion that the contractors are to blame is as likely to cause offence as criticism of the product.0 -
Thanks for the link to that forum more proof of what i have been saying all along this system is no good for my house i know Melin homes read this forum and i hope they look at the link you have posted as more proof of how useless the system i have in my house is,
I know Melin are going to try and get a nibe rep at a meeting their having some time this week i think but i know nibe are not going to turn around and say they 360p is no good as they want to sell more of these units melin only need to search the internet and read in this thread and on the link you have posted to see the system is no good for my house,richardc1983 wrote: »Guys,
Can I take you back to what I said yesterday and what was posted over on another forum, you need to put the 2nd quote to the builders & the people who are involved in this... how can they explain it is suitable and worthwhile.
Over on one of air conditioning & refrigeration forums I posted this for you:
http://www.refrigeration-engineer.co...ad.php?t=29798
All of the members on there are in the air conditiong & refrigeration trade either engineers or designing of systems. They have a wealth of knowledge. One particular member: "bigfreeze" has commented as he had a 70sqm apartment that had one of these god awful systems in.
This is what he has posted in response:

These things suck out so much air that they actually remove more heat than they produce, so the only way to heat the house is with the immersion.
Absolute disaster in every case i've come across them.

I asked them to tell me how many cubic meters the unit removed per hour, (quick calculation on the phone), then asked them how a unit removing 3.8kw an hour was supposed to heat a room when it was only producing 2.6. Cue silence and oh we'll come back tomorrow with more equipment to check it out. Never heard from them again. Cancelled my lease 2 weeks later0 -

None of this is really Nibe's fault. It was whoever speced the system and think the general lack of understanding across the industry. I'm sure the same problem would occur with a LG, Mitsubishi or any other company's heat pump that was not sized correctly for the property. Some comments in this thread have been unjustified and of course I fully understand why they were made. Afterall, I've also been on the recieving end of astronomical bills and this unit.Mortgage Started: £131,500 (June 2010)

Thanks for advice mate, however we have been told by numerous companies that the air source heat pump does not work efficiently or can be cost effective in the UK because of high electricity prices.
We have also been told there is a very limited amount of air source heat pumps that have been trialed in the UK.0 -
This is my point all along my nibe 360p is not faulty at all it is just not big enough for my house,
It is like trying to heat a 4 bed house with one 1kw fan heater it would not work and because it does not work it don't mean that the fan heater is faulty just not big enough to cope,denial2010 wrote: »None of this is really Nibe's fault. Heating a house with any air pump will cost you more than gas even the energy saving trust will tell you this but a right sized external air to water air pump will be cheaper than heating oil or coal or wood pellets. Thanks for advice mate, however we have been told by numerous companies that the air source heat pump does not work efficiently or can be cost effective in the UK because of high electricity prices.

Hi Mate, i will forward your information onto our housing officer in the morning and see what is said, the energy saving trust said that to us too.
We have rang them again today and with the correct air source heat pump a 3 bed semi-detached house should be paying £440 per year plus a little bit more with other appliances being used i.e. TV, Fridge etc.0 -
This thread is too Nibe, Aspects, Orbit, Greenworld and who ever wants to read it.
I apologize for anything i have said out of term but a question i have for each and everyone of you, if you had 3 children 1 with Cerebral Palsy and you were suffering from a crumbling spine and you moved into a 3 bed house that you were told from the start it was LOW COST and within the first 4 weeks of living there you received a bill for £178 i,m pretty sure you would be furious like i was and still am. We are still receiving high bills and will continue to do so every month until something is resolved.0 -
Well £178 is cheap for runniing the nibe 360p for 4 weeks expect a nice big bill next time you receive one:(,
I was also told the house would be cheap to run if i knew what i do now i would never have moved here,
Since last week in 7 days the nibe has cost us alot to run and the temp was mild most of the time untill yesterday i have spoken to swalec today and they told me if it is mild out the nibe will cost us £160- £180 and then they worked out if it was cold around 6c we are looking around over £350 per month just for the nibe,
Now thanks to who ever install this system have to pay swalec over £1200 by friday and then also have a new bill that is going to print on the 21st of jan so by next week i will have another bill:( so that is over £1200 plus i already paid them £350 plus the new bill due 21st,
The Nibe cost £7.58p yesterday and has cost £6.41 so far today not far off yesterdays cost add the cost of running appliances and your looking at almost £20.00 for 2 days electricity:( that is around £300 per month if it is mild outside if it is cold out this would be higher thats why next week this nibe is going off for good,
So far i have been fob off with the cost of your tariff swalec go direct 5 is too high even though this is the cheapest tariff swalec do i pay by invoice as i would not trust settiing a direct debit will this nibe 360p in the house as it eats electricity if i changed to EON their prices are going up at the end of the month. To me Melin/Greenhill saying this is a poor excuse at trying to get away from the fact that this unit can not cope with the house needs and eats electricity,
I think Melin need to be on the backs of who ever installed this system and get it changed for something else asap and not be fobbed off by excuses like that tenant is talking rubbish, the nibe needs more testing blah blah blah. Melin should just take the unit out and hold who ever supplied the unit responsible ,
Melin homes need to have a look at this a real air to water air pump works down to -20c take a look at these videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeVJS_SK2fg&feature=related and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M2CpFQOy9o&feature=related this unit can achieve level 4 code building code http://domesticheating.mitsubishielectric.co.uk/ this is what should have been installed in our home when it was built ,This thread is too Nibe, Aspects, Orbit, Greenworld and who ever wants to read it.
