Having had a look at that link the whole system seems stupid.
You are sucking warm air out of the rooms and recovering it, you then have to pull cold air in from the outside to replace the air that has been extracted only to be heated again by the same heat that you have just extracted? Yes you have fresh air but what a silly idea!
Heat recovery systems on commercial buildings are just that they bring fresh air into the building which is heated by the recovered air from the extract. They are not meant to provide the whole buildings heating requirements! If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
This week we have been monitoring our system by the hour with some weird yet surprising results, well i say surprising not sure this surprises me anymore.
We honestly thought with the milder weather things were looking better, i do however still want this system out because i know whats coming next winter.
The Nibe system has been showing a pretty much constant temperature since Tuesday of around 12 degrees.
Tuesday 12 Degrees - 32 kW units in 24hrs
Wednesday 11 Degrees - 52 kW units in 24hrs
Thursday 13 Degrees - 26 kW units in 24hrs
Friday 13 Degrees - 27 kW units in 24hrs
Saturday 12 Degrees - 23 kW units in 24hrs
Sunday 12 degrees - 40 kW units in 24hrs
On all of these days we have done nothing different so why on gods earth does it go high then higher still then to drop down to go nuts again for today readings.
I wouldn't mind but what makes me even more annoyed is, we were told anything over 7 degrees the unit should be producing 3 kW for every 1 kW we use but when it keeps jumping around i truly have no idea what the system is doing or what i should be doing. If i could live without hot water this unit would be off and if i knew it wasn't going to cost me big style i would quite happily rip this system out altogether.
We have come to the conclusion we have no choice but to move out and let somebody else suffer these high bills.
It heats the hot water once a week (or maybe its a fortnightly cycle... not sure) to above 60 afaik to kill legionnaires disease. Maybe that could explain the higher day?Mortgage Started: £131,500 (June 2010)

Hi Denial, we were told by Nibe that the water gets heated every night, however the highest our water temp ever gets to is 52 degrees and most of the time it sits about 30.1 degrees but when you run the hot water taps it's cold.
We seem to have 2/3 days a week where the amount of kW usage just doesn't relate to anything that we have done to be honest most of the day times we are not in the house but yet the readings appear high.0 -
Just had a read through that manual - http://www.pea.ru/docs/fileadmin/images/teplo/NIBE/360P_.pdf
Another thing that I know is probably not worth doing but how many of you have checked that the extract ducts in each room are fully open?
I have been to a lot of sites before where sites are complaining of poor extraction in the toilets etc and this is because the ducts were closed too far down.
Get these open to allow maximum air flow to the heat pump. Air Air and more air is the key to a heat pump!
Prob wont help if your system is undersized though, worth a try! If the heat pump cannot get enough heat from the air then immersion heaters will come on again.
Are air vents clear as well and free from dust build up?If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
This is because you need the nibe in winter mode to allow the immersion to work to heat the water up to temp as the nibe can not cope on it's own without the immersion heater.Hi Denial, we were told by Nibe that the water gets heated every night, however the highest our water temp ever gets to is 52 degrees and most of the time it sits about 30.1 degrees but when you run the hot water taps it's cold.

Well guys it has been colder today so far the last few days it has been 12c and the nibe used £4.27p yesterday but today it is 6c out and the nibe has used £3.36p already since 00.00am to 9.40am so that is 3.36p for being one 9hours and 40min:eek: i think that is disgusting and no one has used any water at all:( from the nibe,
I think by the end of the day nibe will have used £6-7 i will post back with the full 24hr use once the day has gone. The big test will be from wednesday on as the temp is going to drop loads,

Have been going through the manual and what a complicated system. A few questions:
Are there any alarms showing on menu 9.3.0
What is the setting on menu 9.1.12 ( hot water heating time )
Is there pressure in the underfloor heating of between 0.5 - 1.5 bar.
It is concerning that the DHW is only getting to 30C. Is there an air venting valve on the tank, as the outer tank may not be heating the DHW tank enough. Check the safety valve Page 9 in the manual (47)As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -

Hi Ra, we too are very worried about the weather that is due to hit our doors by the end of the week, the only thing we can think of is how much is the drop in temperature and possible snow going to cost us.
However i have finally got some great news, which personally i think could help you too mate and others (hopefully). We ran out of options today and my Mother-In_Law who i can't thank enough had a great idea about going to our local MP. She contacted him first on our behalf and he couldn't do much without our agreement so asked us to contact him. I rang him first and he wanted an e-mail explaining the situation and costs and the information we had gathered over 2 months, he also asked us to drop in so we could sign a Data Protection form, otherwise the people involved could turn him away until we had. This has now been done and he has responded and his response was something i wasn't expecting. He can't believe how much it is costing us to heat our home and this can not continue anymore, if need be he is quite willing to take this matter to Parliament on our behalf.
He even wanted to be at our meeting on Thursday but because of the circumstances of other people we couldn't move it, we think thou he will be coming to our house to meet us and our Orbit housing office if i can get that arranged.
On another note on the way home i went to a complete strangers house as there is an housing association and they moved in 2 weeks before us, they also had to follow the code 3 and for them to meet this they had gas boilers fitted with a solar panel on the roof. For a 10 week duel fuel bill they had a bill for £200, i so wished i lived there instead.0 -
Hi there thanks for the info and keep us posted on how things go.
Yesterday 17/01/11 has been the most expensive with the nibe due to the outdoor temp has droped to around 7c in the day time the cost for yestersay 17/01/11 was £6.68 and no one used any water from the nibe this is a joke now as the weather is going to get colder as the week goes on i will try and get hold of some one at Melin homes tomorrow to try and get some thing done about this by the end of the month it is ok giving me a energy monitor but that does not pay the bill does it:wall:,
I have taken advise today on this and i was told to send Melin a recorded letter and ask them to kindly sort the situation out asap and provide a cost affective heating and hot water service at the property and if nothing is does send a second copy to Melin and if then nothing report Melin to the housing ombudsman i will have no choice but to do this now even though it is Greenhills fault for installing the nibe 360p as it can not cope and is not cost effective at all but Melin provided us with this house and was told it was cheap to run they did not tell us when it is mild outside it will use what you pay on gas in a week in one day they did not tell us it was not field tested and also no effort to was to monitor the nibe system over the last 11 months,
My costs today £6.68p for the nibe and £0.90 for other electrical appliances £7.58p and it has been mild out since last week and it is going to get colder from thusday on, Imagine if they installed this in a house and there was a young single mum with 3 children struggling to put food on the table and has a token meter she would have had to gone to a shop and topped up £10 just to cover yesterdays costs, But saying that i can not afford to be wasting money to run this nibe 360p myself:think:,
£6.68P 17/01/11 it is going to get much colder and the week goes on as soon as it hits £8.00 i am going to swich it off and it ain't going on any more as long as i live in this house,
