SS I can't believe you're not familiar with 'i'm not being funny'! People up my way, me included, must say "i'm not being funny like, but........" several times a week!searching_me wrote: »anybody want alittle boy thats been rudely woken by big sister and now refusing to sleep? x
Is she still being a horror-bag?Thanks Jillie (and others), Butlins looks nicer anyways and has creche and I don't like the risk of Pontins. Not worth the £20 difference...
We went to both several times when I was a child, i've always thought Butlins was a bit classier.:beer:0 -

Morning all x
Susan I may have used a contented book in the past as well, I don't often see what the fuss is about, I took the advice and used what I could, ditched whatever didn't work but it actually worked really well for DD. With DS he done his own thing and was a naturally contented little one, I'm contemplating seeing if the library has a copy of said book for this time round as little man is very similar to DD and I think he might benefit from a bit more structure to the day, plus it really helped me know if they were likely to be tired or hungry, need entertaining or quiet time. You would think 3rd time round I'd know what I'm doing - I certainly did, its surprising what you forget.
Oh and after a really lovely week with Bobs he was up every hour last night (up is an interesting word though because his eyes were closed he was just being really noisy, lots of whinge and the odd cry out). I got annoyed by 5am and brought him downstairs, I'm gonna be shattered later. Oh well we are all ready for school just waiting till I can take them lol0 -
I'm busy reading this book. I got it for £1 in Asda :money:

It's really amusing in places. Briefly the lady is a career girl and thinks she can have a pregnancy with minimum impact on her career, pop the baby out and go back to work after a couple of months with no fuss. Unfortunately reality is a lot different and it's how she has to cope with pregnancy and motherhood being nothing like what she expected.
It's worth reading if you can find a copy, and you'll probably identify with loads of things in the books like the breastfeeing struggle, piles, being scared of having your first poo after birth, cracked nipples and all the other glamorous bits of motherhood. Here I go again on my own....0 -
hiya. im now using a contented baby routine ish.
Up until H was about 18 weeks we left him to his own routine but could never get him to settle at night. After a few hard evenings he now sleeps a lot better past couple of weeks. was bf on demand but he settled into own routine about every 3 hours. now on expressed and formula and routine for 5 month baby really works for him, going to be getting on with weaning soon so it may all change.:j0 -

Apparently it's really common and I've just never heard itI do feel very silly though.
My mother had a thing against Butlins so we always went to Pontins and while I had fun when I was a kid in retrospect it was a bit grim :rotfl:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
