My Mam had a thing about Butlins and Pontins so we never went to either :o

They're not very sociable and liked going to places in the middle of nowhere with few people around.

I'm waiting for a Tesco delivery that should have arrived between 11-1pm, but it's not here yet :(

i usually heat K's food in the microwave as i still freeze portions for him to have if he's hungry (or doing some peas/beans etc for him) I've been defrosting some chops in the m/wave and as its pinged he's walked as quick as he could to his h/chair with the arms up to be lifted in for his food. I think i might be using it too much if thats where he thinks food comes from oops!! He's having homemade pizza so its actually in the oven but he still wants the frozen chops lol!!

Susan I think T seems to fit in quite well with the book with contented in the title too and would love him to but unfortunately I don't think t has read it yet so doesn't know that he should be feeding at dead on 7 on both breasts with no faffing about inbetween (which includes smiling at mummy and daddy)
I had so much milk in the morning she didn't need to feed from both sides - I would express from one side then feed from the other and typically I got around 7oz out. Alice hadn't read how quickly she was supposed to feed so she was pretty much always feeding after the time you were supposedly meant to have finished.

Susan I may have used a contented book in the past as well, I don't often see what the fuss is about, I took the advice and used what I could, ditched whatever didn't work but it actually worked really well for DD. With DS he done his own thing and was a naturally contented little one, I'm contemplating seeing if the library has a copy of said book for this time round as little man is very similar to DD and I think he might benefit from a bit more structure to the day, plus it really helped me know if they were likely to be tired or hungry, need entertaining or quiet time. You would think 3rd time round I'd know what I'm doing - I certainly did, its surprising what you forget.
I agree it definitely helped me to have an idea what Alice was likely to need if discontented especially earlier on before I'd got to know her. We used to generally be one routine "behind" for feeding and one "ahead" for sleeping and it always seemed to work really well.

I dispute her claim that if you use sleeping bags you can keep your child in a cot until they're three though. Alice managed to climb out of hers whilst still in the sleeping bag before she was 2 1/2.

But Butlins is a resort, not a campsite :D.

I'd never been to a caravan park until a couple summers ago! :)

I hadn't seen that claim - like I said read the bits I needed and ignored the rest. Mine were both in beds when they were 2 anyway. Although some nights DD obviously didn't go straight to sleep because I remember a time when I had to fold all their clothes back into the drawers every morning, that period of time seemed to go on forever, i'm glad I can laugh about that stuff now cos it wasn't funny at the time lol.

Well the library did have said book, I've had a flick through and decided there are at least a couple of things I could try. For a start I've bathed Bobs tonight, normally OH does it some time during the day and not every day. I've never bathed any of them and was a bit worried because if they scream and go rigid I struggle and my back used to hurt when I did try to do it but tonight went really well. Bob was so chilled out and got a few smiles, it certainly improved the evening. Filled the big bath up after and chucked the other 2 in but since they pretty much do themselves they are easy.

Sir monster I always took the timings with a pinch of salt and did things around the times she suggested but I do get what you mean. If the little one is happy though stick with what you're doing, I'm only considering it because I can tell little man is not as happy as he could be and I know it worked well with DD.

Silly husband lost his driving licence, which he can only renew in person at the DMV in New York. He discovered this after I asked him for it so I could confirm our car rental for two weeks from now.

He redeemed himself though by finding very :money: flights to NYC and so instead of just him going and doing the stuff and getting back we're all going!!

    Morning

Pleased everything worked out well in the end SS. Have fun in NYC

Woke up to bad news. Message from my trainer to say one of the boot camp lasses has died. I don't know why yet. She was early 20's and a really nice person. Such a shame and so sad :(

Have a good day everyone xx

Gosh, that's really awful Becles. :( Probably some sort of car accident or something.

We booked our Butlins break this morning! :j I'm ridiculously excited, probably because I've never been to one before :rotfl:. A very MSE £137 for 4 nights, cheapest holiday ever. :money::money:
