Becles, what awful news to wake up to. How sad for her family & friends. :(

I dispute her claim that if you use sleeping bags you can keep your child in a cot until they're three though. Alice managed to climb out of hers whilst still in the sleeping bag before she was 2 1/2.

:rotfl:She obviously hasn't met my beautiful monkey-daughter who could easily remove the sleeping bag and climb out of the cot at 17 months old! :rotfl:

    Good morning everyone. :D

    Hi peeps :hello:

Becles sorry to hear that :(

Sugarspun, that's so jammy. The only holiday abroad I ever went on was to munich on a coach when I was 15 with school!

Well anyone who remembers my meeeting with the local school I was trying to arrange - they never rang me back, which was a cruddy start! I rang them again today and the acting head rang straight back, I'm going in Monday. I know they recently had ofsted in, but couldn't find it on their website or ofsteds, I ended up going on rightmove and finding a random house in my village for the direct ofsted link! No wonder they hadn't published it, they got lots of 4s and are going to be put under special measures.

I am planning to ask them a lot of difficult questions about what they plan to do to improve things, what they would actually do for the twins who are not your average kids (they are very bright but have strong autistic tendencies, still not statemented but that needs doing asap, they need a lot of help to fulfill their potential)

what extra curricular clubs they have, how often do the children go out on trips and where to, what they do about bullying, what they do to engage the kids with their learning, how the classes are streamed, (they have mixed age classes) why that is and how it works. Also if the acting head is going to become permanent. Can anyone tell me if I've missed anything? I'm going to write them all down!

but I did find out that the head of the school my girls are at now works very closely with the school, which means at least the school would get proper advice on how to deal with them. lol.

    Squeak still being lovely :D

Twin2 on the bus this morning was a nightmare, she was totally hyper, I asked her to stop jumping about on the bus and ended up having to restrain her on my lap with my arms round her whilst she kicked my legs and bit my hands. At one point she even managed to punch my face.

Some boys from the (supposedly outstanding) secondary school I went to saw fit to make it worse by laughing and encouraging her and just outright staring at us.

I did tell them that Twin2 has learning difficulties and that that is why I'm having to restrain her it isn't her fault so please stop smirking at me and winding her up and they were just rude to me

I have had problems with them before and I'm going to call their school again because I am very unhappy. Them being on the bus now every morning is one of the reasons I'm thinking of moving my kids and I will tell their head of year that.

They swear at the top of their voices across the bus, I know 12 year olds all think it's clever but it doesn't take much not to do it in front of little ones, there are kids from 4 up on the bus every day all hearing it.

Gah sorry that wasn't meant to be such a rant :o but I feel better now :T

It's not a school bus, just a public one. The lady I just spoke to at their school was mortified so I imagine there'll be trouble next week :rotfl:

I know one of the bus drivers has said he isn't happy with their behaviour either, I might ask and see if he'll get the bus company to contact the school.

    Definitely complain delain.

Josh and James use a school bus, but if there is any behaviour problems reported by the driver or other pupils, it's investigated and punished as approprite.

Josh, James and some others all got a lunchtime detention for squirting bottles of water out the window at passers by :o
Here I go again on my own....

I was going to say contact the bus company and complain to them as well as the school.

The bus company DH works for can't by law remove a child (under16) from a service bus without contacting the police but they can refuse them entry onto the bus. If they are causing disruption and the company receives complaints then they have to make a decision on whether they are allowed onto the bus. DH banned one school boy from his bus for something similar. The mum came out to sort it out and she was mortified because of what her little angel was getting upto. She tried to 'complain' but was told that it was tough. Think after 4 weeks of her having to pay for a taxi (bus drivers work together ya know and he wasn't allowed on the later buses either) she appoligised and then it was another 2 weeks of her having escort him on the bus (2 fares).

So anyway, call the bus station and complain, follow it up in writing and ask them to contact you regarding what they intend to do about it. Tell them you have contacted the school also.

I will have to speak to them I think. I'm not sure how they will react, since the boys aren't swinging from the roof or damaging the bus. If anything Twin2 was being noisier than the boys were, and we didn't have the bus driver today that has commented on their behaviour. It's just the attitude and unless the bus driver is actually listening out for it they miss it.

Becles that's inventive! Never come across that one before :rotfl: on my (school special) bus when I was younger a lot of the biys used to bring the little cartons of milk from their free school dinners home and stamp on them so they exploded, which got really stinky when the weather was hot _pale_

That and they also loved to throw my stuff out of the windows.
