How was she after the MMR? DD has hers a week Monday.
The jabs themselves were harder going, she was so much more aware than the last ones and there was 3 separate ones so after the first she knew what was coming.
She was somewhat clingy and tired the next day but otherwise ok. Although I hear they can get a measles-like rash about 10 days after. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
lauralou hello - so happy to see you here xxx Congrats again. I am no help at all I'm afraid as I've only managed to breastfed for a week. Mine have all slept well at night too, but I think they do start to have more awake periods around 5/6 weeks, not sure I did anything to encourage this to be during the day it just seemed to happen but I have friends whose babies got confused and would want to play at 3am. They have always gone straight back to sleep after a fed and nappy change in the dark and quiet, still 9pm till 4:45am at 5 weeks is pretty good. At that age Bob was having a fed at 10pm 1am and 4am then up around 7:30am.
Giz it is going well, still not given one and I think he is crying less than he used to - he could cry with it in his mouth so what was the point. Seems much more cuddley too so I think he is going to get his comfort that way instead. I love asking him things, where stuff is or can he put something away etc and him doing it - its great.
My sister was due on 4th feb and still waiting for the baby, best friend was due 29th feb and had her baby today. Its such bad timing because I'll not be able to go see her for nearly 2 weeks now, so busy with half term, then OH is off for DD birthday and working overtime I've already agreed to, grrr - I want baby cuddles - I did suggest I bring all the kids over but she didnt seem too keen lol0 -
..the thread up again..it had fallen 2 pages down the board!!
Hope everyone is doing ok.
I was meant to be starting my new job today, but had a phone call from them last week saying there is some 'restructuring' going on there at the moment, and they want to delay my start date to April 2nd!!
The minute I heard the word 'restructure' my heart sank..it normally means redundancies and my friend there said it is possible there will be some, so they can't really be seen to be taking on a new person when others may be being laid off.
However..they are going to start paying me from today as they are I have signed a contract and they are honouring my start date! :j
Obviously that's very cool indeed as we are super-skint. I haven't had any money coming in at all this year apart from my CB.
I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't starting today though as I had geared myself up for it. It is incredibly jammy to be being paid before I even start, but I do now have a lot of time to kill ( DS in nursery Mon and Tues and with childminder on Weds). So trying to think of things I can do that don't require money!
DS has started pulling himself up well, and I reckon he'll be walking in a month or soMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
That is annoying you didn't get to start the job but great you are still getting paid! Hope you find something to keep you occupied!
Well done to your LO!
Poppy only woke up once the last two nights which is great for her. Not sure if its because she has a cold though as she seems to sleep better when ill... strange baby!0 -
Thanks Wendz. It isn't really a great hardship I suppose
I just don't have any money at the moment, so what I can do is a bit limited!
I thought I might try and get fit and start jogging, but I'm not really very motivated right now!
Colds seem to be doing the rounds again. Mind you it seems to be one after the other! I think nurseries are breeding grounds for them!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
MV you are right nurserys are just germ breeding grounds unfortunately. Bob gets one everytime we go to a group, then we cant go the following week, and everything the kids bring home from school.
Bonus getting paid for not working but I know what you mean, I was off on holiday last week and was quite looking forward to going back this week although 8am -6:30pm today and I'm done, think I'll still be aching tomorrow. Its a shame there are redundancies though.
Bobs walking, mostly when he doesnt realise he has let go. I took him to the park on Saturday, was a bit cold so he wasnt enjoying the swing too much but loved walking round the park, climbing the stairs for the slide and walking across the bridge, the older ones helped with that. He screamed when it was time to leave - reminds me of DD who screamed whenever we took her out of a swing, no matter how long she'd been in it, they are so similar.0 -
Wow MV, you are so lucky...please make the most of it and don't give work a second thought
There are loads of things you can do for free/cheap. Just go to baby groups and rhymetimes etc. Soft plays around here aren't too expensive (am wondering how long I can get away with saying DD is under 1). Take up geocaching, that was my new hobby this year, I love it.
DD has come on leaps and bounds in the last week. She can now put the rings on her stacking rings (not in the right order though!) and she's started handing me things. She gives me the TV remotes and telephoneShe's walking like a pro now and so I'm going to the Clarkes outlet (been told there's one in Gunwharf Keyes) to get her first pair of shoes
Been looking at the Littlelife and Goldbug rein/rucksacks, can't decide what to get. I'm edging toward the butterfly littlelife one.
My other dilemma is whether or not to get into Happyland...any thoughts? I've already got quite a lot of Duplo. But Happyland seems to be very popular.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
The thing is Giz, DS is in childcare Mon-Weds, so I have 3 days a week for the next 7 weeks where I don't even have the option of going to baby groups!
Girls seem to progress so much faster than boys! All my NCT mum friends with girls have their LO's walking already! DS only started crawling last month, and pulling himself up about a week ago!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -

Oooh sounds lovely! Make the most of the 3 days of getting all the chores and washing done, then you can have a quality 4 days with DS and days out etc. Hopefully March will get warmer.
Same here MV, the girls in general have been on the move quicker, but it's been 50/50 with the boys. Half of them are walking and half are only just crawling.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
I agree that girls seem to be on the move quicker generally. Poppy is a pro at cruising now and stands on her own for a few seconds sometimes before realising shes not holding on and sitting down. I was hoping she would be walking before i went back to work but is only 4 weeks so not sure it will happen.0
