Congrats Delain on Isla and great to see you back on here.
As well as producing a boy second time round my OH wants me to have the peaceful water birth at home we missed out on this time round. Not too much to ask for then!
BP - probably better for your peace of mind to go get a proper test and find out one way or another. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Mit3 - Yes you're right. I'm just so scared. Silly really cause I guess if it was a false alarm I would be upset!!
I love DS so much and he really is the light of my life. He has made me smile again after a difficult couple of years of losing my Dear Dad. We also struggled to conceive and had a miscarriage along the way.
It is hard sometimes though and not sure how to cope with another one so soon.0 -
I think you just do cope!
Josh was 2 years and 3 months when James was born and they were both in nappies at first. I remember being pregnant and thinking it was too soon and wondering how I would cope, but looking back it wasn't that bad and I can't recall seriously struggling with them. Yes I had ups and downs but nothing so bad that I couldn't cope. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Aww Becles - I guess you are right. I am just going to be in a bit of shock if it's positive. You seem like superwoman to me with all the things you do!!0

awww no I'm like this now
:D
Just had so many bad things happen and people telling me I'm crap, and it's made me more determined to achieve things so I can tell myself I'm not really crap, if that makes sense.
Wanna see what I'm thinking about doing in June?

Freezing cold here again this morning. Was -5°C when I sent the boys off to the bus stop and there's a thick frost everywhere. Luckily I'm just working from home today so I'll not have to scrape the car. I can't stand scraping the car!
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Massive congratulations Delain on the birth of Isla!
So that's 5 girls!!! Woweee what a brood..fantastic!
Becles - I agree on getting LO's started on books as early as possible. Josh loves books. He really likes turning the pages and looking at the pictures. OH has started reading him a story before bed each night, and he sits there really concentrating on the pictures! It's so sweet
Good luck with LO's 1st Birthday party Mit3. Things like fish fingers are quite good for party food too as LO's love them and they're not too junky.
Josh had a great birthday! I have to admit I did get a bit tipsy myself, so a good afternoon was had by all!

It's DS's first half day at nursery today. I dropped him in at 9, and am picking him up at about 2 this afternoon. He did seem absolutely fine, and was busy playing with toys and the other LO's when I left. In fact I don't think he even noticed I had gone!
it's VERY quiet at home. The cat is smiling! She runs away everytime DS comes into the room!
It's weird. I do think the peace and quiet is fantastic, but I sort of don't quite know what to do with myself!
He starts properly next week, so I will have about 3 weeks before I start my new job where he will be in nursery Monday and Tuesday and with the childminder Wednesdays, so I guess I should make the most of it!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Have you got a test yet, BP? I'm dying to know!
That must be getting on for a week late now? Got my fingers crossed that you've been lucky
I've decided it would be better to wait to TTC. I really need to lose a couple of stone in weight, ideally 3, so should do that first. Joe would probably continue to go to his childminder when I was on maternity leave. Childminders are in very high demand where we live and ours is very very good so I wouldn't want Joe to lose his place with her. So financially it makes sense to wait til he's a bit older. I also have some work qualifications that I have to do this year, and really need the whole year to get those done.
Sod's law says if we start now, we'll probably conceive quite quickly, and if we wait we won't.
TBH it's a shame I had the coil fitted as I wouldn't be too upset if we had an "accident"...
Eek, -5 doesn't sound good. I'm lucky living in the mild southwest, it was a balmy 1 degree here this morning
Good to hear your DS is settling well at the nursery MV. I know what you mean about the quiet. If Joe has a longer than expected nap, once I've done my jobs I'm usually twiddling my thumbs willing him to wake up as it doesn't seem right when the house is so quiet :rotfl:
Joe's not really got the hang of books yet. We try to look at them, but he's more interested in closing them than looking at what's actually in them
I guess we just have to keep trying. Can anyone recommend any sturdy ones with flaps? (as in card flaps rather than paper ones) He will look at those for a bit, but is quite hands on so the flaps don't tend to last very long. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
DS was given a nice In The Night Garden book with card flaps in it, BB. He absolutely loves it, especially flipping the flaps up and down!
They seem quite sturdy given the punishment the book has taken so far!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Congratulations on number 5 Delain, Isla is a gorgeous name!
Becles- I agree I think you are superwoman! That warrior dash looks mad but bet it would be fun!
MV - glad Josh had a good birthday. My Mums cats are the same with Poppy, she gets so excited when she sees them and crawls over to them so fast so they are very quick at getting away now.
Not much news here. Think Poppy might be teething again as she is drooling loads and got the rosy cheeks. Took her to baby and toddlers today, don't think i will be able to keep her in the baby area much longer, she keeps trying to escape.0 -
Wow congrats delain!keep popping on to check if BP has done a pregnancy test yet, lol.had my meeting at work, went a lot better than expected going back to do two days a week and getting my normal hourly rate, plus he has also agreed to be flexible with days and hours and even looked into ways I can work from home,so all in all a very happy bunny !so glad i'm not breastfeeding bubs anymore,he wants to pull and chew everything with his new tooth,he kept pinging the teat of the bottle this evening, ouch!!!
I'm defo not ready for another baby, maybe in three or for years time but no sooner!!!Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!
