What a pain on his first day MV! I am a bit worried about Poppy napping at nursery, mainly because i am struggling to get her to nap myself. Loads of people have told me they just settle in though and copy the other children.
Poppy only seems to be having one nap last few days. I try and look out for signs she is tired but she never stops moving! The problem is she doesn't get up till half 8ish normally and doesn't have first nap till half 11 /12 and then she still isn't tired late afternoon and i don't want her to nap too late as she goes to bed at 7. She does wake up in the night so she isn't getting 13 1/2 hours sleep at night. I am trying to wake her up earlier as when i go back to work she will need to be up just before 7 but she just falls back asleep when i feed her.0 -
Great news that you are only back 3 days a week Tink

I have 3 weeks to go till I start my new job. I am looking forward to it. I think a balance of SAHM time and working p/t will work best for me.
Was DD2 ok after her MMR jabs Tink? Did she get any fever? Did you calpol her?Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
All of mine have been icky after the MMR.... By the time Squeak's came around I just made sure that we could have a quiet couple of days at home post jab so she could get lots of sleep (ie I rearranged the appointment they sent which was in the school holidays) Just make sure you've got calpol and a clear calendar for 2 or 3 days after and be on hand with lots and lots of cuddles

MV Hope Josh is OK after his today.
BP good luck with the testing, it's not so scary having two close together. My Squeak has been absolutely fantastic with the 'beeeebeeee' as she says, she's not old enough to be really jealous, I think age gaps of 3 or 4 years look like much harder work to me from what I've seen. I've only had small gaps (20 months, 16 months) and large gaps (9 and 7 years lol) and it's worked very well
Blimmin freezing here as well, I put some washing out yesterday because it was breezy, just a couple of towels with a view to starting them off on the line then in the TD (my garden is so soggy and cold all winter nothing will dry completely) and I forgot them... This morning they were frozen solid  I'm just going to get them in a minute since they're starting to defrost now (just!) Apparently it was -8 the other morning according to the poor Tesco man on the early shift who said that was what his car said when he left for work at 4am  rather him than me I must admit.
I've been considering going back to my old job a couple of evenings a week, just to get me out of the house as OH finishes work at 4 so he can be in charge here so no childcare costs... Just weighing up whether or not it's worth it in respect of tax credits etc, which I know makes me sounds like a huge sponger but we do have to consider it, it's bonkers that sometimes working can make you worse off!
BigBird I don't think it's mad to combine CM and nursery, we have some wonderful CM's here so I do set a lot of store by them

            wow!
do you think you'll have anymore?
I bet your OH is going to have kittens with all the boyfriends he is going to have to vet in years to come! :rotfl:Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
OH had the snip in Dec and he says if there's anymore I'm in trouble :rotfl:
I do feel a bit sad there won't be anymore but we've just run out of space and there's only so much of me to go around! I've just found the twin's homework sheet for today that I forgot all about doing with them and now i feel guilty
Do you think you'll have any more? It's not so hard having 2, and as PP could probably tell you, by the time you've got three one more doesn't make much difference!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Yes I'd definitely like one more.
I think I'm a bit past it for anymore than that!
The loose plan is to start ttc again towards the end of this year as I'd quite like a Spring/Summer baby this time, although I know that they tend to come along when they do!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
I want more too! Ellie was only 3 weeks old on Sunday she is so scrummy!
I am glad to see this thread back on page 1. i was looking the other day got to page 3 then through i was having baby brain as i couldnt see it!
Can i ask a few questions?
Any idea how much milk a 3 week old drinks in a feed? I am leaving Ellie for the morning tomorrow and she will be having a bottle. (I am breastfeeding) I have expressed milk but only got about 2oz off. Is that what she is having in one feed?
Also anyone got a decent pushchair that lies flat suitable from birth? When Ellie can sit i want a simple lighweight pushchair. I have a lovely pram but I have a bad back and it is so heavy!
Thanks in advance.
Nice to see the thread back. I use both threads! I love this site:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart
