  • Few tears here. AF arrived this morning:-( 3 days late and I always have a regular cycle so felt like I was being teased.

I know it is not an ideal time and keep trying to tell myself that. It still takes me back to the long 2 years and miscarriage that we had trying to have our little one. Just hope it isn't going to be as upsetting if/when it finally happens:-(

Still it's little one's birthday next week so looking forward to that.

Happy Birthday Josh for this weekend MV.

Hope all other ladies and babies have a lovely weekend

It's nice to see it a bit more lively in here :)

Hugs BP. I hope you get a sticky bean soon.

Happy birthday Josh for tomorrow. And well done on the crawling, young man :T

Joe's definitely a mover :) We've been to toddler group this morning and I spend the whole time following him around as he never sits and plays with anything for more than a couple of minutes. It does nothing for my social life as I never get a chance to chat to anyone for more than a couple of minutes! I tried leaving him to his own devices and just kept an eye on him, but he kept checking to see where I was and came back and grabbed my hand if I didn't follow quick enough :o

I'm very torn over when we should start trying for another baby. We'd agreed to start when Joe turns 2, but DH would be quite happy to start now. Part of me wants to wait (I have this ideal of a 3-ish year gap so that I won't need a double buggy as I hate the things :o), but part of me worries that I'm not getting any younger - I'll be 38 by Joe's 2nd birthday and even if I get pregnant straight away I'll be 39 by the time #2 arrives. I'm tempted to have my coil out now (which has only been in 2 1/2 months) and just see what happens. Aside from the double buggy thing, I was also thinking that by the time Joe is 3 we'll be getting some of his childcare paid for which will make things a bit easier financially, but with all the cuts happening I don't think we can rely on that still being the case in a couple of years :(

Joe seems to have 4 molars all coming through at once :( One has broken the surface, and the others don't feel very far off. Calpol and Anbesol are his best friends at the moment.

Happy Birthday for Josh this weekend and you little one next week BP! So sorry to hear that AF arrived.

Bigbird - My mum had me and my sis 2 years and a month apart and never used a double pushchair. I guess it is just more hardwork keeping control of the toddler! I don't think there is ever a right time and you don't know what is going to happen so maybe it is best just to go for it!

Poor Joe with his teeth, hope they are through soon.

We have been swimming this morning which was nice. Hoping I can keep that up on a friday as is my day off when i'm back at work and she seems to enjoy it. Also a couple of other mums i know went which was nice.

I thought this thread had died since the other one started :o

Happy birthday Josh - hope he has a good day.

Second all the comments about not getting hung up about developments. They all develop at their own rate. James was walking at 9 months, but Charlotte was still flat on her back until 10 months! However she's was right chatter box and James hardly said a word until he was 3. They all catch up in the end - how many children do you see crawling into the school reception class in nappies with puree for lunch? ;)

Even though Charlotte was 15 months before she walked unaided, I'd ditched the pushchair before her 3rd birthday as she could easily walk a mile without complaining. She's 4 now and managed a 6 mile walk last summer  I do go for a walk everyday though as I've got dogs so she got used to it quickly.
Here I go again on my own....

ah bargain, hope it doesnt take so long this time xx

Bigbird we are trying again now, Final baby, dont think the surgeon would want me having anymore, he did say I could have one more though. If I get pregnant straight away the baby will be due when MIL gets married which I keep telling OH we should wait another month but then its getting close to Bobs birthday and Christmas and I'd rather have a sept baby. Will just have to see how it goes and if it happens straight away deal with it. I do see you idea of waiting though as I'd quite like Bob to be at nursery when the baby comes so I get some 1-1 time but also I want them to be close like DD and DS are - no way I was doing another 15 month age gap though.

Bob is neither a walker nor a talker but he'll do them both eventually so I'm not worried. He is healthy and he is making progress so whats to worry about. He does babble more than he used to but its all the same sound, a kind of babbabadadada. he used to do a umamama sound but hasnt for a while. He'll get there. He didnt crawl till 10 months and it was commando style for quite a while, now he is up on his feet but I'm sure it'll be a couple of months before he walks unaided.
  • Evening all, logged on today for the first time in ages.

Can't believe Josh is 1 tomorrow - MV, our babies are growing up so fast :(

I'm back at work on the 26th January, day after my little big man is 1 :( Doesn't feel like I've had 14 months off.
I'm really sorry that work is such pants - Giz

  • Thanks for the birthday wishes guys :)

Bigbird I'm a bit torn as to when we should start ttc again too.

I'm 38 now, will be 39 in April  so really I'm going to be 40 by the time no2 comes along (if we get lucky again). I don't really want to leave it much later than that.

I'd quite like a spring or summer baby this time, so I reckon we'll probably start trying from about August time, but then again you just don't know how ling these things will take do you?

Also (and this may sound awful) DS is great now. Sleeps 12 hours a night and is such a good boy. I sometimes think back to the early days and shudder a bit as it was SO tough for the first few weeks. Do I really want to go through all that again?? :rotfl:

But I do want a little brother or sister for him, and I'm guessing it's not QUITE so scary the second time around...??

I'm good thanks. Got a list of new year resolutions I'm working through :D

    Hope you are well xx

It's easier the second time round as you know what you are doing. And by the third, you can do it all with your eyes shut :D

Its easier MV because if they are screamers that dont sleep - you know it gets better and doesnt last forever.
