Don't worry about your weight in a swimsuit. People of all shapes and sizes go to the swimming baths. Think about it - do you really spend your time in the pool looking at everyone else's body? I bet you don't, so I doubt anyone will be scrutinising yours. Once you're under the water, everyone just looks like a blob anyway!

I can't see too well without my glasses, so everyone looks like a blob out of the water to me :rotfl:

Swimming is fun with babies, especially if you take bits of toys for them to play with. I enjoyed taking mine when they were tiny.
Here I go again on my own....

Becles- hope you are feeling better now, horrible being ill over christmas.

Hope those taking LO's swimming have fun. Poppy loves swimming now, is so sweet she squeals as you pull her round the pool. She didn't really react much first few times but i took it as a good sign she didn't cry!

Doglover - don't worry you aren't the only one without a brilliant sleeper.I always found it hard when people are telling you their LO sttn etc but luckilly i know a couple of mums with babies very similar to Poppy with their sleeping which makes me feel a bit better.

Poppy was in her own room last night, wasn't too bad considering how much she wakes at the moment. There were a couple of times when i left her for a couple of mins and she went back to sleep without me going in where as normally i would have picked her up when she was in my room. Did have to go in around half 11 , 2 and 5 but considering she has been waking every 1-2 hours that isn't too bad. Hoping when she will get better at settling herself back to sleep if i don't rush to do it all the time.

doglover DD and I do swimming lessons - if it's going to be a regular thing I'd definitely recommend getting a baby wetsuit. I got one from baby splash but you can often pick them up on ebay too.

Hi all, I dont normally post on this thread but was hoping for some advice!

My 12 week old son is constipated :( He has never been very regular, usually only goes every two days but have been told by doctor and HV that as long as it is normal when he does go not to worry about it - he obviously just likes saving it up!

But for the last week he has been looking really uncomfortable when he does go. He went last night and it was quite hard, then about half an hour later followed by pretty normal looking poo (sorry if TMI!), but today he is really grumpy and keeps looking like he is trying to go.
I have been giving him cooled boiled water, but it doesnt seem to be making any difference this time - just wondered if there was anything else I could do for him?

He is bottle fed. Thanks in advance

Hi Flower08, I am new to the Forum and have just read your message - when my little one (8 momths) was having trouble pooing the health visitor suggested massaging his tummy in a clockwise direction. Also, try 'bicycling', his legs as this sometimes helps. As a last resort, offer a tiny little bit of orange juice to him but not too much as you don't want to give him a taste for sugary sweet things. I hope this helps.

Hi Flower, Hope you are ok. BigThelmas ideas are good. I was also going to suggest a dash of orange juice in some water, have heard this can work.

    Welcome flower and BigThelma! :)
Thelma's advice sounds spot on. I would only say, have you changed the brand or stage of the formula recently? As this can affect their wee tummies til they get used to it.

No havent changed formula, hes been on the same one since about 3 weeks when I stopped BFing - which is why I cant understand it!
Thank you for the advice, did all of the above and he went about an hour ago :) seems a lot more comfortable now so fingers crossed he'll be ok.

At least i'll know what to do if it happens again!

    Thank you :D

Flower I ended up changing DD's milk to the comfort milk about a month after I stopped breastfeeding as she was constantly constipated. It was horrible seeing her in pain.
Comfort milk is lower lactose I think so easier to digest - whatever is in it, it definitely works for us - it's thicker than normal milk though so you'll need variflow teats if using TT bottles.
