not good!
How are you doing Missymoo? I feel your pain. My OH goes back to work tomorrow and I have been in tears all day thinking about it, and he will only be gone 8 hours or so!! He has got 2 days in then 5 off before another 2 in. You would think he was away for 6 month the way I feel about it!! It's been lovely having him home for the past 3 weeks though. I'm going to miss him tomorrow, and I'm a little bit terrified about being alone all day with LO :eek:0 -

Ah she's lovely jenjade and only just fits in that hospital cot!! Lovely name, I really like Ellie :j
What about trying halfords for the carseats?
Hiya lirin. Welcome over. Hope you and Rose are both keeping well!!!!!
Hugs to the mums missing their OH's. I wouldn't like OH to be away for 2 weeks though it would definitely make us appreciate each other a bit more. Starting to feel like a domestic doormat. I'm just not used to being a house wife, and frankly, it's a bit boring after a while!

Have barely left the house since Rose's birth! Not advised to drive (low iron/bp/platelets), which has affected my options a bit.... With rubbish weather, I think I'll stay where I am- though the little lady isn't giving me much chance between feeds to do much!0

I'm with you there :rotfl: I wonder how other mothers manage to get ANYTHING done???
Jen, your little girl is gorgeous, and looks huge compared to my bundle!
Well OH went back to work today and it wasn't as bad as I thought although I really have missed him. He went in late so he could take us to the baby clinic to get LO weighed, she was 6lb 6.5ozs 12 days ag, and weighed in at 7lb 4ozs today, so I am very happy as she is now above her birth weight :jI feel ridiculously proud of her :rotfl:
OH also spoke to my family and asked my sisters to pop in and visit me today so that was nice. And the icing on the cake is my new pram arrived :j We had inherited one from my sister, but once we started to use it when LO was born it was too big for OH's car boot and difficult to put up and fold down, so we had a trip to Mothercare on Christmas Eve and ordered the Quinny Buzz 3. I was shocked when it arrived today as I thought it would take until after New Year. So LO and I took it out for a spin this afternoon
Does anyone know how much a 3 week old should be awake during the day? We have been trying to keep LO awake during the day to change her body clock around, but it is difficult to keep her awake at times, she is just totally zonked! Gina Ford says they should be awake for 6 and half hours between 7am and 7pm, but that seems like a lot?0 -

Good weight gain WW. And you are right to be proud!!!! It's a lovely feeling pushing them about in the pram isn't it?
For feeding and sleeping I follow the Baby Whisperer routine. Some newborns are on a 2 hour, some can last for a 3 hour routine. Basically it is: feed, nappy change/play then sleep. And repeat. And wake the baby up for the next feed. As they get bigger they play a little bit longer and this lengthens the routine to 3 hours. Breastfed babies can stay at a shorter routine as they get hungry quicker. My 3 month old is on the 3 hour so gets fed at approx 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and 8pm (still needs the extra feed) Little ones will probably have a middle of the night feed too. Think the aim is to gets lots of food into them during the day so they are less hungry at night and sleep longer at night:D
Edit: with a 2 hour routine they ideally would be awake for 1 hour, sleep for 1 hour. 3 hour routine: awake for 1 1/2 hour, sleep for 1 1/2 hour, so she could be awake for 6 hours during the day.First Baby born January 2007

Thanks Alison, I've got The Baby Whisperer (2 copies) and Gina Ford (2 copies) for Christmas
I find that LO is absolutely zonked out after a feed so it is a struggle to keep her awake
